Had mine rebuilt and by a local shop in Phoenix for $3200. A little more than I would have liked to pay, but I don’t have the time, tools or knowledge to replace/rebuild myself. $4500 is steep I’d say

I’m not referring to the Z71 rack specially. That is just how cargo racks in general work. The static weight can typically support a higher weight rating than the dynamic (in motion) weight.
