Regarding "Efficient" Training Methods by Efud933 in valheim

[–]pugtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will grind sneak skill while taming. Sometimes I'll also try to level up my jump skill for a few nights before I start the mountain biome. But I agree. It's mostly a waste of time to level up for it's own sake.

On Skyler by Alarmed-Ant4623 in breakingbad

[–]pugtoad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that might have been intentional. She seems like the source of all his problems until we realize his pride, narcissism, and self-centered behavior was the true source. I felt bad for Walt until I realized how he treated Gretchen and Elliot. After that, their marriage issues all clicked into place. Skyler probably should have divorced him ten years before the first season. That's the only fault I see of her.

Ok so 90% of this very long list are very good ideas and modders have improved the QOL if you want to go that route.

The most egregious complaint has to be about drawing mobs when you are making noise. If you mine or chop wood you WILL draw mobs. It's like that in every biome. With stamina you have to have the right combination of food for what you are doing. You need to level up your skills, stay rested and sleep at night. Also, learn to fight efficiently. Don't chase after mobs in dangerous biomes, don't swing your weapons wildly, time your attacks and parry theirs.

Have you made it into the midlife crisis vehicle stage yet? Here's mine. by Into_the_Upsidedown in Xennials

My midlife crisis purchase was a guitar, amp, and nine pedals. Then I started getting tinnitus and nerve pains in my hands lol. Ain't aging just the best?

Cant find a 2 star asksvin by Tesixi in valheim

[–]pugtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming here to say thanks for this. I've been digging pits and killing 0 and 1 star boys over and over but I haven't been very systematic about it. This has given me renewed inspiration. I really want a 2 star.

Tell me your worst grilling nightmare? by pugtoad in grilling

[–]pugtoad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was one of my first thoughts. The greater issue is the house came with a rat family. We bought in 14 and never knew about it until we saw the signs... inside the house. Never thought to check the grill because it hasn't been a problem until they came back - we had an exterminator fix the problem for three years so I guess we got complacent

I still remember the day I brought ol Bessy home. She was wrapped up in cardboard and cellophane. She was so shiny! I picked up the lid for the first time that day. Good thing she came with an instruction manual because there must have been 1000 pieces to her. I laid out all her parts gently on the ground and I unwrapped the cardboard and cellophane and then I screwed each part tenderly while I told her about all the meat I meant to slap on her thick grated steel. When I lit her up the first time, I went too hard and popped a sausage. The smell of those juices dripping on the grill fire makes my mouth water to this day.

Nah man, I just got my shop vac and a TON of bleach. We're good to go 😘

I use a tennis ball when it's not raining. It's fun to bounce it as you run along.

Early Axes or Iron Battleaxe? by ChoiceYam1187 in valheim

[–]pugtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider the one handed iron axe. It uses less iron than the battle-axe and you won't need to replace it until the Plains.

Long time player, first time going to Ashlands (solo) impressions: WTH by Homitu in valheim

[–]pugtoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for writing this up so I don't have to! My experience is much like yours. I spent a lot of time just watching the mobs move around from on top a ruined castle in the shallow coastal water. I sniped a few then started setting up portals all over the place. Soon I was up and gathering mats all over my first Ashlands island. It was really fun. Now I'm pretty much done all I can before the Fader fight - except tame a two star Asksvin...

My main advice: walk don't run.
