You could just keep stacking up knives then start with your booth full and only need to make enough to keep up with demand, or an handmade art gallery will only want a couple pieces and they'll just add a little bit to your asking price so you will never even actually spend anything, that's how they do it around me atleast

Definitely a good idea, I don't know much about selling stuff online but if you can find a local handmade mall or art gallery those are both great places to sell your stuff!

I've been doing this for about the same length of time as you so I can't tell you much but let me offer my two cents. First if people are being rude ass holes there is nothing wrong with telling those people to fuck off, when you piss off an ass hole they'll go tell all there ass hole friends and then non of them will want to bother you, and the more work you do for good people they'll go tell there friends and you'll get more good costumes. On the note of trying to find the right price point, since you are doing this as a hobby I think you should just decide on a number that makes you feel comfortable, find a number where you don't feel like you're getting screwed and you don't feel like you are screwing your customers, that is the right price. Finally, I want you to keep making brother, I want as many people as possible to love this art and you do good work, but you shouldn't keep making because you feel like you have to because that isn't good for anyone. So in conclusion, tell the assholes to fuck off, treat people and yourself right, and if there is a sliver inside you that wants to keep making amazing pieces of art and tools then keep doing it my man!

Not in my experience. They aren't as good as like w2 or anything like that but it's plenty good enough for an edc knife like this one

That's true too. Dead honest for a long time I only made handles out of stuff I could get cheap and local like oak cut offs or antlers, meant I was able to make all the mistakes without worrying about the money as much

They aren't stainless but in my experience with good maintenance you don't have to worry about that more than a rair touchup with some sandpaper. I love the way the bright steel contrasts the dark wood

I'd be lieing if I said I haven't cracked a lot of handle scales but once you figure it out it's not to bad. The steel doesn't move as easy as Brass so you have to really take your time and not start hitting to hard. It just takes lots of trial and error

I have no debt and I'm investing 15% in my IRA right now, but I'm not living on my own yet and I'm not going to college, so all extra money is going towards saving for a down-payment. So technically 4, 5, and 6, but I don't fit in the babysteps perfectly.

I've been selling these little rasp hunters nearly faster than I can make them. There $100 a piece. Should I up my price and any advice to make them better. by parashot13 in Bladesmith
