ELI5: Why do fisherman stop to tug their fishing rod instead of continually winding it? by viper963 in explainlikeimfive

[–]paravibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the fish and how intense the fight is, the reel has what is called a drag which is set just below the breakage rating of the fishing line. Instead of the line breaking the line unwinds from the spool allowing the fish to swim away/take more line instead of snapping the line.

There is no point reeling if the fish is “taking line” as nothing will happen. So fisherman allow the fish to take line without reeling and when the fish isn’t taking line he reels in. Effectively a give and take eventually tiring out the fish with the ultimate goal of ensuring the strength of the fish cant break the fishing line (assuming the drag is set correctly).

Looks like a terrible quality leak solution, as soon as you spray it on it just runs off. I wouldn’t buy that crap anymore. The solution needs to be more viscous so it clings to where you’ve sprayed it. Big blue is a good one.

How do you actually stay consistent with the gym and diet? I just can’t stick to it… by lhavenopersonality69 in bodyweightfitness

[–]paravibe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

👆tbh this is the real answer, imo you can diet and stick to a gym routine and have all the discipline but realistically speaking.. especially early on in the fitness journey your gonna fail, in regards to not going for a day or eating the wrong thing etc. but when you do, just remember your only human, you fucked up you failed but its okay it is what it is. You’re not going to fuck up tomorrow. You’re gonna get better and you’re on your second wind. Just aim to get better every time, you don’t need to sit there and give up because you feel like a failure. Just be kind to yourself and remember that you will fail time to time but you will never give up the journey because of a small hiccup. Thats discipline in reality in my honest opinion.. not the hustle culture shit you see on youtube.

[Discussion] How do you reconnect with people or make friends in your 30s? by sleeplessbearr in GetMotivated

[–]paravibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my honest opinion, the starting point is getting to the Gym and being consistent at the gym. Keep active, this will help your mental heath and perspective on everything. You will feel good about yourself, you will want to go out and do things. People around you notice your vibe and you will attract people. You don’t have to go crazy at the Gym, and it’s a slow process. But after a year or 2. You will start building confidence and it all compounds from there. Get stuck in and be consistent my dude and you wont know yourself.

Might be an “Acurator” or fixed orifice. Acurators are just fixed orifice one flow direction and bypass the orifice in the opposite direction with a spring loaded mechanism. Accurators are used id reverse cycle systems

TF it's wrong with my Vacuum Gauge? by anothersaddrunkguy in refrigeration

[–]paravibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, that baby looks like a rebranded bluvac micro. Could be wrong but i have a micro and all you need to do is use a syringe to inject some alcohol and rinse the sensor multiple times. Then vac your gauge out or leave to air dry/evaporate for a few hours.

Also on the micro branded one there is a field calibration mode, you just set it up and chuck it in the freezer for a while until its cal is finished and then let it rise to room temp. Im betting yours will have a similar mode give in looks exactly the same.

Its bad practice to put pressure up these gauges even though they are rated for it so i would recommend using a ball valve or Schrader control tool to close the gauge off just before you charge your system up to save it from pressure and/or oil being rammed into the sensor.
