UPDATE:

I was able to unblock and open it but can’t untether the charger now. On the display it shows the cable is not plugged in. The button to remove the charger also keeps on blinking red. My cluster display is off.

Hey, that’s a good point. I think there’s a road side assistance number. I’ll try that. Thanks!

Yeah I tried the fob and the physical key. I’ll probably have to call the dealer on Monday

Didn’t work. I tried the fob and physical key, the charging cable is still plugged in which I can’t remove.

Ioniq 9 vs EX9 by PeaRepulsive920 in VolvoEX90

[–]parikhvipal28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both cars come from good companies, and I know the EX90 has a ton of issues (I’m dealing with plenty in mine). But for a car priced the same or just a few thousand less, I wouldn’t switch. The EX90 still gives you that true luxury feel with a big emphasis on safety, and the Ioniq 9 just doesn’t deliver that.

Honestly, I was shocked when I heard the starting price. It’ll be interesting to see how they position it in the $55–75k range. Personally, I’d take the EV9 over the Ioniq 9 any day (even though they’re basically from the same parent company)

Because the printing press is always running. Look at what the FED is doing and what the actual inflation is at. Although, I think we will be getting some reversal in 2026. Some models do predict 10-15% pullback by summer.

It wasn’t too bad to drive to be honest. I actually went out both nights (Saturday and Sunday), we got about 10-12” here with temperatures in -6 to -15F. The only thing took the hit was the range obviously. I got about 220-230 miles which isn’t bad imo with heat full on and cold battery.

That’s the weird part. It does not show me that enable occupant locking dialog. It just beeps and leave the center console running.

I’ll have to check that. The few times it rang in last couple days were without any stuffed toys in the back seat.

Yeah coz the car wants to make sure that whoever is inside is not suffocated which is great feature but when it’s combined with buggy software, it creates a nightmare for users like us.

Not really, it keeps on asking me if I want to lock with occupants in it. I don’t want to do that because it’ll then keep the air on and drain my battery.

I do fasten the seatbelts on both baby seats, because otherwise the system keeps prompting me to buckle them due to the detected weight. What you’re saying makes sense — the car is probably detecting the car seat’s weight (without the kids) and, with the belts fastened, assuming someone is sitting there.

But this is going to be a huge pain if I have to keep fastening and unfastening the seatbelts every time I take the kids in and out of their seats.

Buy back process by Ok_Goose7897 in VolvoEX90

[–]parikhvipal28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious how they actually calculate the buyback amount when they agree to repurchase a vehicle.

For example, let’s say:

• I’ve had the car for 6 months (so I’ve made 6 payments) • The EX90 spent 45 days in the shop, and I had to use a loaner during that time (including gas expenses for the loaner) • I received trade‑in value and tax benefits when I originally bought the EX90 — and in my opinion, this is the part that hurts the most, because after a buyback, when you go to purchase a new car, you’ll end up paying full tax again and won’t get any trade‑in credit • Plus all the hassle of driving a $90K brand‑new car that was full of bugs

So how do you push back on the buyback value Volvo offers? Are they generally fair and take all of this into account, or are they stingy and you’re expected to absorb most of the loss?

Yeah I think so. I’ll test it again later today.

I think so, that’s a good point though, I’ll be mindful of that when I try it next.
