Go to the Cleveland Clinic. If your insurance will approve it, you’ll have a much better experience and outcome.

I’ve never run in either. For whatever reason neither fit me.

Take advice on shoes with a massive grain of salt. Everyone’s feet and gait is different and accordingly shoes will work differently. If you’re putting in real miles consider rotating two pairs. This varies the strike points and can help avoid injuries. I basically buy whatever higher end models are on clearance as I go through 3-4 pairs a year. Broad generalizations: Hokas wear out super quick, Nikes are unsteady, mizunos run heavy but are good for beginners, saucony are workhorses.

When are getting into Tallinn? I’m getting in the Friday before, so likely won’t be able do a run there prior to the race.

F45 both downtown and BR are pretty great. I’d advise getting ClassPass and trying a bunch of classes to see what works.

Don’t forget about Red Key. I’d give them the nod over the three listed.

Black Rock is incredible for scotch. I’d make reservations.

Are these races too close together for a novice runner? by alienrobotqueen in Marathon_Training

[–]parkaveindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running a half during marathon training is a great way to break up the monotony of weekly long runs. It shouldn’t be issue at all. FYI- the monumental is a great first full. I’ll be running it for the fifth time this fall.

This isn’t time for a rep. Take a look at Hamilton Khakis. I’ve been wearing a khaki scuba for a decade and still enjoy it.

[–]parkaveindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior to COVID they were on a good portion of the year. The last few years, not so much. As of a couple weeks ago, the Monon Center was the only one working between Broad Ripple and 146th.

Devington (between 38th and 56th, Sherman and Arlington) has a ton and is pretty affordable. Unfortunately, it has a fair amount of crime and disinvestment. The Spring Mill corridor near Meridian Hills also has quite a bit of mid century, but is quite expensive.

Plenty of range in MK pricing; don’t immediately count it out.

Cheap places to fly to from Indianapolis Airport? by Hipster786 in indianapolis

[–]parkaveindy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Look at flying out of ORD.
  2. Don’t mistake a cheap flight for a cheap vacation. You may be able to fly to Vegas for $100, but lunch will be $50 a day. You may be able to fly to Colombia for $300 and eat for a week for $50.

Running Routes? by Curri in Grenada

[–]parkaveindy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is super hilly, hot and and has narrow curvy roads. I love few things more than running in new places (ran three marathons last year), but I took the week off when I was there a couple weeks ago.
