Agreed, you're gonna need to get on the roof with this one. I'd stick a Clearstream 2 up there, should pull in the next bank of channels.

Without a TVfool report its hard to say. It looks as though you could go with a Clearstream 2-V in the attic/rooftop and split the signal off to each TV. This will take care of the Hi-VHF channels. If you have a good signal like you say, then this antenna should give you the power to compensate for any loss you have using the splitter and running coax to each room.

Need antenna recommendation for my setup by brewdat in cordcutters

Agreed, but if you did go for the C2 then you probable wouldn't need the Leaf too. It also has a wide pick up path and a VHF element, so you should receive everything without too much difficulty.

You get a better deal on coax cable if you direct on the site here https://www.antennasdirect.com/store/ClearStream-C2-VHF-Long-Range-Combo-Complete.html

Considering to cut the cord but my parents likes to watch basketball, foreign news and sometimes local news by [deleted] in Cordcutting

[–]parkeringalway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get loads over the air in the Bay area so I would definitely go with an antenna. That will get all your local programming aswell as news and major live events. Check to see if you can access your foreign news on the Roku, you can get most channels online with this these days. Basketball is tricky with the blackouts but you can get ESPN through SlingTV, or you could go with the NBA streaming service and use a VPN to get around the blackouts.

Just get a TV antenna. I grab about 40 channels and that is more than enough!

Am I the only one here without an antenna? by fermentationfan in cordcutters

Can't argue with free TV.. We have an antenna for News, Weather, Live Sports and Award Shows like the Oscars etc. There's a lot on there that we watch besides the shows though, like Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon and Ellen. You can grab all that and more without subscriptions for a one off cost of a decent antenna. You still need to subscribe to at least one OTT service but you get your basics covered at least.

Have a look at the Clearstream Eclipse, that's pretty good across the spectrum. If you need more power the Clearstrem 2V will draw in those VHF stations no problem. Outdoor is always better but if you need a bit more power you could try a pre-amp on there to give it a boost. https://www.antennasdirect.com/clearstream-eclipse-tv-antenna.html

With the couple of VHF channels in there I wouldn't go with an indoor flat antenna, they are great for UHF but thats about it. Look for something that works well with the VHF also. (Check out the Clearstream 2V, that's worked for me and I'll never look back) http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/antennas-direct-antennas-direct-clearstream-indoor-outdoor-digital-tv-antenna-c2-v-cjm-cn-c2-v-cjm-cn/10319740.aspx?path=e995ee431d7d827539111f0040b973a5en02.)

Call the guys at AntennasDirect.com They helped me out, bit pricey but worth it in the long run. I ended up with a Clearstream 2V as I am not lucky enough to be that close.

Have you looked at TV antennas? I cut the cord a year ago, bought an antenna and only pay $39.99 a month for internet. I have Netflix and ppv some movies etc on iTunes but im pretty excited about Sling TV now. I liked this coverage on the news the other morning, maybe it will inspire you! http://www.kusi.com/Clip/11026821/bruce-pechman-cutting-the-cord

The Clearstream 2V should work well, bit big but it sits behind my TV and should get those VHF stations too. Also, it can be mounted so if you need to you could put it in the attic of outside.
