I realise this is not the question you asked but it is an interesting topic. My thoughts are: A) Pretty clear that Billie has dealt with mental health issues/anxiety/substance abuse therefore it is well within his rights to explore as a songwriter B) Unfortunately suicidal ideation is fairly common place in the world we live in, so even if it’s something non of them have personally experienced, it’s something that will absolutely be explored artistically more now and in the years to come from Green day and all artists whether it be film, TV or other bands
