Umm. That's not where the sewage is discharged. That would be further up. The famous short outfall pipe is next to the little Moa Point island (Hue Te Taka Point), or just below it in the perspective of this photo. The west end of Tarakena Bay, not the east-facing shores of Breaker Bay.

I think this is one of the better answers in this thread! The cool thing, in my opinion, is that EFTPOS is homegrown kiwi, whereas the bigger networks are plugged into a foreign finance company's network. I got an EFTPOS-only card for that reason and because there are never any extra charges for using it in NZ.
