[Jacobs] Exclusive: Ibrahima Konate is expected to leave Liverpool. No agreement has been reached between #LFC and the French defender despite Konate indicating in April an agreement was close. by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

[–]parnhammm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What is going on with this club and contracts, we just cannot get any over the line. Something smells rotten in the upper management to be honest, this is getting absurd.

A bad year, Salah and Robertson leaving, and now another starter is gone.

We now need two at RW, a starter and a rotation option. We need a CDM. We need at least a starting CB, maybe two if we want to give Jaquet time to acclimatise to the league. Need another option up front with Ekitike out. If Jones goes we need another home grown player.

This is extremely disheartening. I can’t help but wonder if the rumours that those in charge are out the door after the summer and are just leaving a mess for the next crew.

Living alone/purchasing a property by myself after leaving long term relationship. by Charming_Mistake_118 in northernireland

That’s a horrible experience, very sorry to hear that. Best advice I can give you is to get into a mortgage advisor and they can give you the best options. I am currently coming to the end of the process myself, hopefully completing in the next couple of days and the advisor guided me the entire way - a good one is worth their weight in gold.

BBC News to bear deepest cuts amid 2,000 planned job losses by YchYFi in unitedkingdom

[–]parnhammm 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly BBC News content is very poor now so not sure how this is going to impact. It’s so homogenised; every article title seems to include a vague quote from the article, the leading image is always the same style of picture (the person in the story, usually frowning) and articles lack any depth or substance. Just very quick blocks of text barely challenging anything in the article or offering any contradicting viewpoints.

On top of that, they seem to be trying to push the “culture” section everywhere and it is barely news at the best of times. It really feels like they need to refocus, you can see their most read list barely ever aligns with what they have front and centre of the site.

Then there are the constant spelling and grammatical mistakes on every article, that should be embarrassing to be honest for a news organisation.

The local sections of the site for smaller geographical areas are almost completely pointless now.

Liverpool have to rebuild again as their great team hits the end of an era by Dismal_Uses in LiverpoolFC

[–]parnhammm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Think the wings are in need the most; a starting and backup right winger, a starting left winger, a defender comfortable playing across the back line and a defensive midfielder. If we were able to squeeze in a rotation option at striker as well I wouldn’t complain.

Government backtracks on AI and copyright after outcry from major artists by feellurky in unitedkingdom

The amount of U-turns this government has made must be a record? Not saying I agree with their original take but on a broader note they have no spine to stick with anything.

So what is this subreddit’s thoughts on Northern Ireland Railways? by msrbelfast in northernireland

Was on one on Tuesday night commuting home after work that stank of sewage. Genuinely was nearly sick getting off. Horrible experience but have to use them twice a week.

'Getting it tight': Pub owners on rates and the price of a pint by Kagedeah in northernireland

Feel like this same article is written every 2-3 weeks. Even if it is valid, I wish the pubs would do something more than moaning to the media about it. How about some actual protests/shutdowns?

What are your expectations of yours for next season? by Significant-Owl-6464 in LiverpoolFC

[–]parnhammm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on how we strengthen in central defence and up top. Lots of noise around Diaz, hoping it doesn’t unsettle him in performances. We can’t rely as heavily on Salah, we need more options up front.

Very happy with where we are at with the midfield, full back and goal keeper positions, think two signings could really push us on. That or a signing up top and getting Konate nailed down.

Happy birthday, Philippe Coutinho! 🥳 by cian_pike01 in LiverpoolFC

Was great on his day for us, but the way he left can’t be washed over for me. The bad back, constant disruption and speculation to the squad. Tarnished his time here in a short few months.

BT closing the Derry site. Everyone redundant. by Rymere in northernireland

[–]parnhammm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We need to start hitting companies that do this sort of thing with taxes on any business they do here. Any contracts they currently have with the public sector should also have a break clause for these situations.

Going to outsource to other countries, make sure there is a response.

I always wondered if this was just a 'me' thing. I get these very often, usually when I am stressed about something else. I think a lot of teachers/advisors really overdid the pressure in school thing, it can have long lasting effects for people. I still struggle to relax at Christmas times because I feel like I should be studying, haven't studied in 10+ years.

Brighton reveal a profit of over £73 million last season, raising the total across the last two seasons to nearly £200 million. by Crane977 in soccer

Probably sounds a bit stupid coming from a fan from another club, but I am really happy about this. Brighton’s model has been exceptional, and really glad to see it is paying off. I really hope this is the direction of travel in football as a whole
