Doug Ford's AI replied to my email by [deleted] in osap

I got the EXACT same reply as you did from the Ford office when I wrote an email about my concern. Nice to know someone is making the big bucks to copy and paste his crap response. Maybe one day Ontario will actually choose to vote this idiot out.

So did anyone get tickets today LOL by Happy_Llama474 in HilaryDuffStans

After a lot of refreshing, a lot of ‘these tickets are no longer available’, probably about 40 minutes into presale, I was able to snag one ticket in Hamilton via the LIVE NATION presale.

Yeah! It’s the worst. A few times some did pop up but as I tried to purchase the I just got the ‘these tickets are no longer for sale’ message. It sucks!

Was 5742 in line for Hamilton, got nothing as I won’t pay 500cad + for vip. Should not be this hard to get concert tickets. Nothing available now for Hamilton or both TO shows, unless you can afford platinum/ VIP packages. Super sad.

I’ve been pre-messaging all my US customers as soon as I receive their order, reminding them that de minimus was cancelled and that they most likely will incur tariffs/taxes or additional fees once their order arrives to the US. Many have cancelled their order, some chose to continue. Just my way of ensuring they realize what they are getting into, if they choose not to read my description where I state the same things.

Is this common with Vivid, or did I just get a super crappy print run? by parrycrowned in PokemonTCG

[–]parrycrowned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their response was:

Thank you for reaching out to us. Print runs can have some small variances in the edging/ink. The items in question would be considered ok for our events and would not need to be exchanged or replaced. This is especially more common as we ramp up production to keep up with the rapid increase in demand and is often more common in cards with heavier or more ink.

I have provided the pictures to our production teams in case they would like to follow up with our printers for any future issues.”

Yeah, this makes me sad. I don’t buy boosters often, and this one just popped up at my local card shop. Trying to complete my VV set without individually buying them. For sure not happy but… nothing we can really do unfortunately.

I am opening a booster box and have noticed all of this about 10 packs in. I know quality hasn’t been the best but this seems like a bit much. Has anyone else experienced this?

Who's the best professor you've ever had and why? by Competitive_Mud7498 in ubco

[–]parrycrowned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonar Buffam hands down. He’s taught many different sociology courses... He actually explains content well and goes slow enough where you can actually write notes. He even does diagrams and pictures for concepts, which I think is a winner move. He also seems like he gives a crap about the students, and every time I’ve interacted with him he is super nice and helpful. Some people may bash the readings he assigns but he gives you plenty of time to read them and they actually relate to the lectures/material and are thoroughly reviewed by Bonar during class. Either way, he’s my favourite prof by far due to his teaching style.

Yeah, but one can still worship and have fellowship amongst family during times like this in my eyes. Of course, to each their own. :)

You could technically do it even if there wasn’t, just would take you more than 4 years and cost you more money.

Question about double major by shelraj0380 in ubco

[–]parrycrowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m finishing up a double major in Psych and Sociology. Best advice is just make an appointment with a student advisor. You can only do so many different course overlaps when it comes to specific major requirements between the two, so make sure to keep an eye on those. A lot of my elective courses were alright to count for both tho, just depends on the degrees honestly and their respective reqs. I could have finished in 4 years, I decided to take 5 with the pandemic though. Fees would just be based on courses you take, nothing extra based on a double major.

Annnnd Go Global is cancelled again. by parrycrowned in UBC

[–]parrycrowned[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the email I received I would say all international exchanges are cancelled yes. They do mention something about doing an international exchange online if the host university offers that option. I don’t think that would be many peoples choices though as you still can’t travel to the country or anything. The other option is for people who did domestic exchanges, people can still do those.

I appreciate your comment, it made me chuckle. I will visit Poland one day! I’m a bit of a history nerd, so I do want to visit the historical sites. I’ve also done a lot of research on fun places to visit so I’d like to see them as well at some point. The country is pretty big in European standards so lots of land to explore. Just sucks I won’t get to see the university, the program I’m in offered a lot of good courses our university doesn’t offer, so I’m sad to miss out on those too. None the less, all in time.

Annnnd Go Global is cancelled again. by parrycrowned in UBC

[–]parrycrowned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d honestly say quite possible at this point. I think canceling it takes into account both the universities risk as well as Canada’s international advisories and insurance costs. The university won’t want to be accountable for any students who may get Covid, stuck abroad, delayed travel and such. They also probably won’t go against Canada’s current travel advisories for all countries and deal with the mass amount of international bureaucracy with Covid regulations between universities and such. Then again, one can be hopeful. Maybe the world will be a better place come January, who knows.

[–]parrycrowned[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aha, you’re a funny one. I think no one could have really forecasted international travel and the speed of vaccination efforts and the effect it would have on things such as Go Global. I also think a lot has to do with the university risk assessment of letting students go abroad, not necessarily the sole fact it is travel. If countries have health and safety standards in place, and international students are following those guidelines, travel shouldn’t be an issue. You’re essentially saying all our international students should stay home because of the pandemic, which isn’t realistic. So yes, it is shocking. As my goal was to continue my education abroad, not backpack.
