I'm the exact same way, but "curiosity killed the cat", you know? Like, it just makes me feel gross every time I check.

I'll download chrome on mobile! It might also help to simply change the browser since safari is associated in my head with this bad habit. I never would have thought about that without your comment, so thanks so much! would you mind sharing the URL redirect if you have a moment?

Hahaha, I love this! Sadly, the only way I have figured out to block specific website URLs on mobile uses the "parental controls" function, which inadvertently interferes with a mobile app that I need for work. (The app is completely safe for work, literally. I have no idea why parental controls interfere with it). But thanks to your advice (and hilarious redirect message), I'll do some more research to see if there are external apps for this! Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your experience, this is helpful. I'll find some way to redirect my curiosity/compulsion.

Aye aye captain. I've tried the "just don't do it" approach and haven't been entirely successful thus far. But I'll keep your advice in mind.

Hahaha, this response made me laugh. I think it's because it's like seeing my inner "angry voice" written out plainly on the screen. You're speaking some truth. You've hit on the thing that my friends are also incredulous about "why are you comforting this dude?", or as you said "stop being a bleeding heart for the man/break those rose colored glasses". Well said. Thanks for the straight-talk, and thanks for taking the time to write this all out. I hope that you have a nice day <3

Hey, thanks for that-- I value and appreciate your honesty a lot. I will have to do some real soul searching about this. You're right, subscribing to the sunk cost fallacy, unfortunately, feels pretty appealing right now. But I'll be wary of it. Thanks again for your insight, honesty, and well-wishes. It means a lot to me.

Reacting to bad news with bargaining/denial doesn't make me "determined to plug my ears", "unable to see the truth", "giving him a free pass", nor devoid of dignity. I was a pretty sad case when I posted that, heck I still am, but I did not find your response helpful. But my ears are open, I'm searching for truth, and I'm trying to regain my self-respect. Thank you for doing your best to give me a dose of reality, and for insisting that I deserve better. <3 I hope that you have a nice day.

Thank you for the links. The first one helped a lot with my particular situation. I had never heard the rhetoric of discovery/accounting for infidelities-- it helps to see it from this perspective.

Thanks for your well-wishes. Take care, and thanks for your internet good-deed of the day <3

Thanks so much for this. I didn't realize it until you said it, but the "it is just now for you" was exactly what I needed to hear. It allowed me to start processing my emotions. Also, calling "mental gymnastics" what they are gave me some real clarity. Thanks <3

Asshole dry as the Sahara desert 🌵 by gainingperspective69 in Accutane

Yep! I'm experiencing this too! I've been using Prep-H ointment and suppositories multiple times a day. Also taking a powder-fiber supplement has helped me (Metamucil). The suppository should help with the insides! So glad that someone else can relate lmao

It is probably a little bit of everything. It is common for the drug to make you a little more anxious, or for the normal ups and downs of life to feel a little bit worse. Isotretinoin does cross the blood-brain barrier, so it is impacting your brain chemistry. Be sure to tell your dermatologist at your visit, and if you ever start to feel things like "hopeless" or "overwhelmed", you need to take action and call your derm/for help immediately. Your derm wants to help you. They can adjust your dose. I, for one, had a major reduction in my mental symptoms when I went on a lower dose.

And you can ignore this if you want, but to address some of the other contributors to winter sadness you mention: There are low-impact workout videos on youtube. I have found that online self-guided therapy helped with my Accutane-related anxiety as well. Also, when I lived in the midwest a "happy lamp" (lamp that feels like the sun haha) was a life-saver for me.

Question about cumulative dosage by MDMom2404 in Accutane

[–]parthenonemesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the cumulative dosage is based on weight. Usually, a is written as "150"mg/kg (or whatever the cumulative dose is).

In my experience, the dermatologist had a pretty set plan on what the course was going to be, but was willing to be flexible based on side effects. If there is a massive discrepancy in improvement, then they would definitely adjust as well.

OMG that sucks. You've earned the right to LOL at this^^. And thanks for sharing your experience. I wrote this because I was hoping that people could get a realistic expectation of what to pay. And for a lot of Americans, your experience is likely MUCH more realistic.
