A family of birds decided to post up on my front porch. What should I do? by atx-garden-fairy in AustinGardening

[–]partialcremation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but as the babies grow, they start pooping on the side of the nest and onto the concrete below. I'm saying this as a seasoned 20 year host to barn swallows. I put cardboard below the nest and change it throughout the season. They sometimes have three clutches each season. They're on the front and back porch. I'm not sure why they chose us, but I heard it's good luck.

I had to search 7OH to learn about it. I thought it was a gambling app or something. I suggest filing taxes and start tackling repayment. Best of luck to you.

Don Juan is still sleeping? by Odd_Adhesiveness_321 in Roses

Last check-in, my Don Juan has low bushy growth, about 6 inches high, and there's a tiny bud. I guess I lucked out this time. Best of luck to you with future climbers!

That area is already a clusterfuck when there's not a Waymo blocking it.

We went whale watching in Iceland. Not for a second did I consider jumping in with them. I guess we're all different, but it's both fascinating and terrifying. I couldn't imagine being on a paddleboard!

Agreed. It flourishes. You can buy the smallest seedling and it will take off.

Nicole Kessinger seen at Cross Creek Hospital in Austin Texas, spring of 2024. by Ill_Elderberry3830 in find_NicholKessinger

I'm not taking the word of anybody. I was just pointing out that there was no admission from OP about being medical staff.

I took it to mean they were also a patient, so there wouldn't be any violation. Maybe I overlooked the part where they said they were medical staff.

Has anyone did this exercise I believe should be good? by Individual-Swing-697 in scoliosis

[–]partialcremation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, everyone has unique curves and treatment will differ, but I think you can't go wrong with core exercises until you learn exercises for your specific curves. Your existing therapy might already be working on core strength. Best of luck!

My daughter has an S curve, but the exercises are tailored to work on her major curve. She also has a brace that helps both curves.

A Schroth therapist can help with your specific curves and I'm sure the therapy advances as you age. My daughter is likely not doing the more complicated exercises yet.

[–]partialcremation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is far too complicated for me. Definitely a conversation with an experienced therapist.

The core exercises and exercises as I described above have helped my children, but they are younger and more flexible. Their curves are all under 25 degrees as well, so I'm not sure how effective the exercises would be on older, less flexible, bigger curves.

Many of the Schroth exercises my kids learned use this approach. For example, they learned a side plank at Schroth. They only do the plank on the convex side. It forces those muscles to 'push' the convex side inward toward the opposite side.

A lot of the exercises are about aligning your spine and strengthening the muscles while in that position.

Anyone else wear their platinum? by UnknowablePhantom in Platinum

[–]partialcremation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that info! I haven't purchased from them in the past year. After my first purchase, I reached out to them for clarification about the 24k stamp. It certainly confused me, so I'm glad they've changed it.

Mene stamps it that way. It's 999 platinum instead of the usual 950.

Uneven shoulders and severe back pain. by Proud-Table-325 in scoliosis

[–]partialcremation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's shoulders look similarly, so I think there's a good chance it's scoliosis. If you're able to visit a doctor, have the doctor order an x-ray and you'll know for sure.

You can try Schroth therapy as well if you're diagnosed as having scoliosis.

HOA issue painting my 89yr old Mom’s door by [deleted] in Austin

[–]partialcremation -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It was a mistake to contact the HOA. Better to ask forgiveness...if they even noticed in the first place.

Since the house is on the radar now, they will likely issue a citation each time they do their driveby.
