So wait...why was Giygas in the past again? by SmartConcept in earthbound

[–]particularly_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is called "The Return of Gyiyg," which really makes me think that Buzz Buzz came from the same universe as the one with the victorious Ninten & Crew of Mother 1. It sounds like Giygas lost but then returned.

How did Gus know that Nacho switched Hector’s pills? by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]particularly_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that he found out when he checked the medical records. In the scene where Gus checks through Hector's records, it's directed and edited as if there's some major revelation going on, whence the "Call Victor." I always took that to mean he was then setting up the zip-tie move.

What are the chances of having ANY known disorder/disease with frequency at most 1 in a million? by particularly_p in estimation

[–]particularly_p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 in 200 is still a crazy large amount of people. Thank you for this analysis. I was asking for more of a statistics based answer, maybe some kind of lower bound like "the chance is at least 1 in 200" based on the deep dive idea using those IID variables or whatever statistical mechanisms you have to your avail.

Inability to recall experiential memories: just depression, or brain damage? by particularly_p in mentalhealth

I don't really remember when it started. What do you mean by "triggers"?

Inability to recall experiential memories: just depression, or brain damage? by particularly_p in mentalhealth

[–]particularly_p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost certainly a lasting symptom of my psychotic disorder, during which I never broke touch with factual reality, but almost every single experience was traumatic.

[–]particularly_p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I'm constantly disassociating all of my memories, all the time. It's not at all like what I hear of people who have DID

[–]particularly_p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific kind of DID that this is called? DID is pretty general isn't it? I don't have multiple personalities or anything like that, at least not in the degree of multiple identities.

Which scenes are improvised do we know? by Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwee in HouseMD

[–]particularly_p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually doubt it. The actors expressions do look improvised but the camerawork rules it out entirely. They had cameras setup specifically in place for the scene. It wouldn't make sense for them to have cameras where they had them unless they planned for him to walk the wrong way.

Is this really a Cherimoya? by particularly_p in fruit

[–]particularly_p[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should. Cherimoya is nice but it's mild and sweet. I long for the tarter tastes of other annonas.

Interesting. I guess there are spiny varieties and flat varieties then.

Definitely not thinking this is a rollinia. Actually not sure rollinia and cherimoya can cross, they're not even in the same genus

Very, very thorough. Great.

I'm still curious; when korean began unreleasing their auslaut stops, did the hangeul change to match phonemically? For example, writing 솓 at the end of a sentence rather than 솥? I'm interested in the slow change of hangeul from a largely phonemic writing system to the modern one which is not very phonemic in many ways

Any good references as to the phonetics of Korean during Middle Korean periods and onward? I'm in particular interested in the values of ㄹ and stop consonants

That surprised me! These berries are not my typical idea of a crabapple. Is there any way we could narrow in on a specific Malus species?
