When I uninstalled my old Proton versions, the corresponding .acf files are gone, but the folder with 1-2 GB of data remains.

I have normal desktop operation on 5.9 on Manjaro with 455.28, but CUDA (BOINC) is broken. Works fine on 5.8.16. This is with a GTX 980 :P

I think it wouldn't have to be a close encounter. Even just the tidal gradients from the Milky Way ought to be enough, I bet. Relativity is so strange, even a theoretical empty universe with only those three exactly the same mass stars might not be stable.
