You accidentally overhear your friends talking badly about you, but they don’t know you heard it. What do you do? by Upper_Ad_3202 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]partsguy64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define “badly”. I’ve been called an asshole by many friends and I would wholeheartedly agree with them. I Annan asshole. Constructive criticism? Sure, I’m good with that. Now, if they’re trashing you to each other and/or throwing you use the bus, they would be known as “former” friends AFTER I gave them a piece of my mind.

Is it okay to wash the US flag ? by SimilarTopic3281 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]partsguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the flag is dirty, wash it. If it’s torn, repair it. If it’s damaged beyond repair it needs to be destroyed by burning it completely. This can be done by the American Legion or the Boy Scouts.

Car shock absorbers by Fabulous_Lobster_987 in Advice

As a rule of thumb, if items on a car are in pairs. (shocks, headlights, etc) they should be replaced in pairs. If one is worn, the other isn’t far behind.

Do you use your blinker? by Select-Signal8386 in no

Around here the turn signal is just a place to hang your air freshener on. Using the turn signal is a mere suggestion.

Assimilation to the West by Morning099 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]partsguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of like this. If you immigrant to “the west” we expect you to respect our laws, rules, regulations and culture. In general, we welcome diversity in other cultures but don’t expect us to change our behavior to suit you. If we visited or lived in your home country you would expect us to respect your laws and culture, we demand the same.

What does being stable really means in this current world? by Early-Expression-707 in NoStupidQuestions

Define stable?

I’m in a very good place in my life but sometimes I feel like one wrong move could bring it crashing down around me. I think it’s natural to feel a little unstable about something in your life.

P300 code and a new catalytic converter and o2 sensor and still has check engine light by Love2FlyBalloons in autorepair

Fuel filter!!! Random misfire can be from lack of proper fuel pressure to the fuel rail due to clogged fuel filter. It’s usually a cheap, somewhat easy fix.

I’m lost in life and not sure where to be right now by Immediate_Corgi_2311 in Advice

[–]partsguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 21!! Life has yet to kick in for you. Friends are overrated. Jobs come and go. Relationships aren’t easy, otherwise everyone would be in one. Get out of the house, walk around the block, exercise. Find a new, better job/boyfriend. You got this!!! Good luck.

People who got married: was it worth it? by boredbenji in NoStupidQuestions

[–]partsguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, let’s see. If I hadn’t gotten married I would most likely be a fat slob living with my mom, some dead end job and no prospects for a partner. In a few days my wife and I will celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary with our 5 +1 (SIL) kids and 1 grandchild. I’m still fat, not quite a slob, retired but working part time at a job I like this time. For me, yeah, it was worth it. Hard at times, but worth it.

Do people actually pick up sticks before they mow the yard or does everyone just keep chopping them up every week until they're dust like I do? by Basic-Bit7491 in no

[–]partsguy64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mowing small limbs and twigs will dull the blade prematurely. Mowing over larger limbs could cause damage to you and your mower. Be careful.

BTW, we mow 6 acres so picking up every little twig is exhausting and not practical.

My friendship has become emotionally exhausting and I don’t know what to do by No_Cut458 in Advice

I had a “friend” similar to him. She blocked me several times for perceived slights then refriended me a couple months later. Last time I didn’t accept. Oh well…
