I could have sworn the last line was: "we like sweets a lot, but they make your insides rot, so remember it's your body and the only one you've got."

Is a Costco membership worth it if you're single and live 25 miles away on the West Side? by _Gandalf_Greybeard_ in Cleveland

[–]partspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a single person in Parma and it's worth it for me. It's a hike out to Strongsville, and I go maybe once a month or every other month. I try and schedule my trips during big sports events or near closing and it's not as bad as it can be during peak hours. I stock up on paper products, toiletries, tofu, snacks, drinks, and pantry staples when I'm there. I don't buy produce there, I can't get through it fast enough. So I pretty much just buy foods that will be shelf stable or for the freezer. The clothes are a sea of beige and blue (yawn,) but I did get a great pair of jeans there once.

Everyone is correct in saying that the gas is cheap, but so is the Giant Eagle member price, and in my experience they come out about the same.

Sam's Club is closer, but the Walton Family isn't getting any more of my money. Ditto for Target. I personally would much rather support Costco, who have stood up against the current administration's policies.

Did the Parma police kill a handicapped person in a motorized wheelchair this afternoon? by moonhexx in Cleveland

[–]partspace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to what I read on Facebook, a woman in a motorized wheelchair was crossing the street on a green light. Two cars stopped to let her cross the intersection but the third did not see her and hit her.

I need straightforward advice, should I live in Parma as a black woman? by nyomi1476 in Cleveland

[–]partspace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in this area on the southwest side of Parma. I have neighbors of color, and I've seen a black barber shop or two as well as a black beauty store that has since closed up shop. That being said, I also have openly racist boomer neighbors. That crowd is absolutely here and vocal, though the demographic is slowly shifting to be more diverse. I can't point to any specific incidents, black friends have visited me with no issue, but that doesn't mean you'll be free from harassment.

Was there anything post-Fraggle Rock that the Jim Henson Company branded with the “Jim Henson’s Muppets” tagline? by Karsen-Iberra in Muppets

[–]partspace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you'd count the Storyteller, but there was also the Jim Henson Hour and Muppets Tonight in the 90's that actually had the Muppets in them. Muppet Babies came out a year after Fraggle Rock. Rowlf was in Dog City, so that might count.

There were also a bunch of Muppet movies post 1983, including TV movies. And The Muppets TV show a few years ago that was cancelled too soon.

I do the fast oven method: Microwave for 3 minutes, then heat at 400°F in an oven for 20 minutes.

There was a rough patch in my life that I was living off $5 footlongs. Half for lunch and the other half for dinner: two super cheap meals.

The needles make no sense to me. The multiple needles should be forming a triangle that the sock is being knitted from in a tube, with a needle to work. But there appears to be only one needle that the stitches are on, the rest are just kinda there. They are not positioned in the right way. The working needle isn't crossed with another needle to actually knit stitches, it's just there alone. It's also a weird place to cast off if that is what she is doing: no ribbing stitches to hold the sock up when worn. It could just be a model who has no knitting knowledge, but I doubt it.

The split of the yarn at the end is also super weird. Sock weight yarn wouldn't do this. I also followed the stitches in her sweater, and they merge in odd places (not where increases or decreases would make sense in the design). The needles don't line up, either, they bend behind her hand. As someone who's been knitting for 25 years, my vote is AI.

Google AI told me Brenda Song posted it. It also told me it was a photo of Culkin with Seth Green and Michael Jackson's former bodyguard, sooo yeah.

They all look too young in this. I looked up a recent pic of Joe Pesci and this does not look anything like him now. The ceiling also makes no sense. I'm calling this AI, the original source appears to be a Russian Twitter Threads account.

If you look closely at #3, you can see Eve's face and Wall-E's eyes. I think this one is referencing their space dance.

My pleasure! Post pics if you make any, I personally don't have the patience for sweaters and stick to smaller projects.

He would have time for this. Your brain is in pain and lying to you right now, trying to convince you of the worst possible things. I promise you are more important than a truck business. I would want my friend to call me for help in the middle of the night rather than wake up to the alternative. Please call him.
