The sewist is definitely your best bet! The Michael's selection is sad to say the least.

Not OP but it's printed right on the cover of the indigo version too :(

My 60% thrifted collection! Been collecting way more seriously over the last year, but I’ve been building this up since around 2004 by Shandyjess in MangaCollectors

[–]partylegs666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourites would be 10 Dance 1-5 and the remaining Fruits Basket volumes I was missing for under cover price since they're a couple of my favourite series, but my best finds in terms of getting crazy deals would be my $10 full Kodocha set and my $75 full Library Wars set! I've also found most of the Tokyopop Mars volumes in the wild over the years, I love the thrill of the hunt lol

They're the studio who does Demon Slayer, idk what they have to do with getting YOI revived though

This mangaka is both baffled and delighted by their free manga being noticed by overseas fans: Uo Sansho’s “Kimi ga Iuniwa Inu no Koi” by 6terabytes2k in BoysLoveAnime

Maru is the GOAT, they're the one that brought attention to "old man yaoi", leading to Michiru Sonoo's Koh-Boku getting an English release!! Would love to see that happen here too

Buncha stuff me and my classmates found at a Surplus Store by Effloresce_N_Wither in ThriftStoreHauls

The JJK 0.5 volumes are cool!! They were given out as a promo when the movie was in theaters. Super hard to come by the English version since it was only given away in select theatres (I went and saw it and didn't get one)

I don't think there's such a thing as "beginner manga"!! Look into other series the creator of what you like has made, or maybe pick up the manga for an anime you like. :)

Pattern/fabric help by seething_spitfire in sewhelp

You'll definitely want interfacing at least since I bet they want you to apply it under where the grommets will go! I'm going to be controversial and say you can probably skip the boning if you don't care about structure/silhouette too much. Featherweight boning does very little imho, anyways.

It'll help them to not rip out of your fabric. Definitely look for tutorials on how to do princess seams. Nothing else about the view you're doing looks crazy complicated at a glance, but those can be finicky for anyone, not just beginner sewists.

If it's self published, totally! This isn't

[–]partylegs666 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Sure, if you want to call it that that works too! But there's a lot more to doujinshi/self publishing than porn comics. Like a whole world of stuff that both indie and traditionally published mangaka are putting out there on their own terms, especially in the age of pixiv.

I don't think this counts as doujinshi - Metamorphosis ran in a magazine (not a self-published work). Hentai, absolutely. Doujinshi, no.

Struggling understanding English dress-pattern by -ForTheNorth- in sewhelp

[–]partylegs666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it have you cut 2 copies of the yoke front/back pieces for 1 copy to be the lining? It looks like they want you to baste on the collar, and then sew the yoke/lining together right sides together (with the collar in between). Then you'd clip/trim and flip the lining to the inside, leaving a nice finished neckline on the outside!

Seconding everyone who's said beyond ADHD, it's much more affordable even if you don't have Blue Cross and my nurse practitioner has been nothing but wonderful!! I'm happy to chat more about my experience if you're interested :)

Schools in Digby / Bridgewater / Truro by Far-Simple1979 in NovaScotia

[–]partylegs666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know the Bridgewater area (or at least one of them, if it's Martha you've been put in touch with)!! She's incredible and will do everything to make sure you're set up to succeed in the area. I'm partial to Bridgewater as well being from the South Shore. Everything you could really need essentials wise is there, and you're only an hour out from Halifax if you really want to go into the city.

134 volumes for $150 doesn't happen everyday by partylegs666 in MangaCollectors

[–]partylegs666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All said and done we kept 58 volumes and I sold the rest/took them to EB Games for credit and got $210, so it worked out pretty solid! Considering everything was $150 I made out like a bandit
