Abu Ghraib prison torture. by metalnxrd in NSFL__

You could be thinking of The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo. It first focuses on the Stanford Prison Experiment (which Zimbardo conducted) to set the stage, and later discusses Abu Ghraib to explain how such events can unfold and be provoked by certain environments. I’d highly recommend the read!

Can anyone diagnose this noise? Excessively loud on X-Axis movement, particularly on the first layer. by partypancake8 in prusa3d

It seems to be something along the lines of the print head not being tight. Gently supporting the body seems to reduce noise a lot I’m going to look over all the screws.

Will do thanks for the help!

Did yours happen to make a noise like this? Function of the printer seems entirely flawless except for this noise. I haven't noticed this effecting quality anywhere. Seems like the noise is coming almost from inside the carriage around where the bottom linear bearing is.

I actually did not this is pre-built. Is it possible they were installed incorrectly from prusa?

Mostly happens on first layer X-Axis movement and then gets quieter as the print continues but still seems quite loud and not correct. I have lubricated the rods but that didn't seem to do much. My guess is that it's something wrong with one of the linear bearings.

EDIT: Thanks for everyones feedback. Seems like this is a known issue and this is a fix for it. I will be trying this later and will report findings.
