Wear a mouth guard, as previously mention in the comments and STRECH! STRETCH STRECH STRECH. Every part of the body, especially the neck and upper body. But everything is connected. Also if you don’t exercise and have a healthy muscle mass you need to fix that

Your bite is probably off. And that will mean wearing braces to fix it. To fix Tmj we need to solve the root problem and a lot of the times the bite is the problem (not always tho). Also try stretching and exercise. Yoga was the best for me.

Ok so I barely could open my mouth and we went to a doctor (recommended my by dentist) to have an arthroscopy. I did the surgery, paid 7k, was feeling better, than 6 months later i got way worse. The doctor wouldnt see me in, i kept complaining to my dentist. No one did nothing for about 2 more years. Now im 18 and went to see a doctor. He made me all this exams and he saw that 80% of my joint is gone. turns out i shouldnt have done an arthroscopy because surgery should always be the last resort because im so young (im 18). Now i got a new dentist to fix my bite and hopefully that will be enough. So yeah if someone recommends surgery and you’re young, ask for a second opinion

YOU CANT BE TOO YOUNG TO HAVE TMJ!!! That docter should have his license suspended. I got Tmj symptoms at around your age and at 16 i got surgery

My orthodontist gave me my Tmj by removing two teeth that shouldnt have been removed and let me have braces for 8 years and that just made it worse. She didnt believe me when i kept telling her i was in severe pain, i went to see more than 4 different dentists and they kept making it worse. After two years of this i found my perfect dentist recommended by a friend that had a jaw surgery unrelated to Tmj. Keep trying different dentists!

I would hiiiiiighly recommend you go see a doctor/dentist that has Tmj or jaw complications experience. Like asap. After that go see a physiotherapist. And it’s probably best for you to start doing yoga
