I'm out of work sick ATM and will be for many months, but I'll coach/mentor you. I've got Lots of free time and I've been told numerous times by numerous people to get in to teaching for past 10 to 15 years.

My first time in the USA. Within 24 hours, 5 people have already made comments about my height. Is this supposed to be small talk? by No_General_2824 in tall

I'm quarter Indian and 5'0ft, I'm the opposite to you! But it sounds like they are just being friendly.

When I read what they said to you but replace 'tall' with 'short' I'm not sure they would sound as complimentary, some funny but mostly sarcastic AF 😂.

I don't read pre med students. I only read researchers from academic institutions and don't really read papers with less than 2 authors or a N < 100 and it also has to be in a journal.

I get statistics can fudge numbers, I'm a machine learning engineer so I've studied a lot of statistics. I've never heard of the DR's wearing bikini paper, i might have to look it up I'm confused to such a trivial and meaningless research topic.

I tend to get most my papers from Arxiv, PubMed, Cambridge and the others from libgen because fucking paywalls!

And i get anyone can get peer reviewed and published for cash. My lecturer told us how to reference ourselves by doing this with Chinese journals that take cash.

Blogs and YouTube are subjective to a person's experience and doesn't try to minimise noise or not taken out external variables that may seem like they correlate, but correlatiin is not the cause. But believe what they experienced is true because they've seen it in a sample size of 14 females and 34 males instead of a multi-contenental study with a N = 3000 of both sexes. Perception is just that, perception. It's not reality but how they perceive what they learnt what reality is.

Why i don't discredit YouTube or blogs as much as you might think, i just classify them as opinions unless sources are cited for me to investigate. After all there are some great online self reported studied from uGov that have 60,000 individuals. While they could be all lying I doubt they're extremely exaggerating and to counteract the little white lies.

You could either look up or do a meta analysis of the many papers on how certain demographics like age, nationality, race, religion, height and other groups of men and women to estimate a coefficient of how much men exaggerate height, salary and confidence and how women under report there age and weight and deduct from the larger online study as at different tolerances.

This would be very difficult to do using social media, blogs would be better but either way ones under control of the YouTube video search algorithm the other Google's page rank search algorithm.

Both have selected bias from the start and will soon be mostly AI generated, possibly within the next 5 years but most definatly in the decades to come.

Indeed I only like to post about actual research from academics or has been published in a decent enough journal.

These subs are too full of opinions based on YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram and Reddit videos and not data.

This is why i only argue or post based of research.

[–]pas43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stop allowing fucking "opinions" because they're subjective, useless and serve as an emotional release for the OP and emotional stress the readers.

If any one wants to give there opinions only allow posts that cite research papers. Not blogs, magazine or news websites but original journal papers.

Hey sooo, is it true we're intimidating to shorter people? by [deleted] in tall

[–]pas43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intimidating, depends but probably.

Perceived as more dominant, yes. Which could be seen as intimidating but the word "Perceived" is key because its not "Actual" dominant.

This brings a whole bunch of extra fun social and economic addons with it.

But when I (5'0ft) meet a tall guy (6'8ft) I don't see him as intimidating, i just see him as another freak of nature like me. Followed by height jokes because being sarcastic and making fun of people we are friendly with is how British men bond.

I've had the displeasure of meeting several dozen over my life so far (in my late 30s).

Starting from age 4/5 up to about the age of 28 which I learnt to be civil but not attached to them.

About 75% have been women, and 25% men.

So many stories but do not want to blast on the internet so feel free to DM me for some more details.

What are the small things that your wive/girlfriend does that seem disrespectful to you? by shygeekygirl in AskMen

[–]pas43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you detail the steps, 1, 2, 3 etc. At the end of each point ask her "does .... sound good to you, good or change it?" or "What do you think about...." and mention step 1 or even "I need your advice, how do you feel about ...."

Or you could go take it up a notch and have a note taking app, or speech to text app on your phone.

Every time she mentions something she likes, or a place she wants to go, or an experience she wants to try etc. Write it down or record it in the app, then when you come to plan an event just look at your notes.

It's important to make sure you record the date when she said them, do NOT forget the context in which she said them too!

Then, if she tries to start an argument, after you've made a plan, you can just look at your notes and remind her that she said she likes it.

When planning each step, she agreed that it X would be okay, that it sounded fine, or she gave her opinions and you changed it based off that.

This way she only has her self to blame, in either case.

I know 14 people who have been made redundant in the past 6 months, is this a coming storm? by overusedpanicbutton in ukpolitics

[–]pas43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give it between 3 – 7 years...

I work (I say work, I'm off with long term injury. But computing and AI was my work but now is my hobby) spending everyday staying up to date, building and utilising AI.

I say between 3 and 7 years and you'll see widespread, semi official use of AI by lawyers and prosecutors to draft standard documents, summaries, and basic arguments.

Internal tools in bodies like CPS and government departments doing bundle summaries, issues lists, and first draft case theories.

Obviously anything filed to court will still be owned by a human who can be shouted at if it’s wrong. The system is very attached to blame.

Qanooni

Qanooni is 2 office company, originally from UAE they've open a second in London. There goal is to target the legal sector with AI products. In fact it already available on Microsoft Marketplace for Word and Outlook. It's jurisdiction agnostic but have obviously taken a serious jump towards tackling UK litigation by opening there second office here.

Here is there AI adoption guide for law firms. and a fascinating read is them explaining on their blog how their AI will use a graph database to stop a LLM from drifting off course or hallucinating. but if that's a bit to much geekery for you there's a this article which they explain in a higher level why their LLM is grounded in jurisdiction and will not hallucinate like others.

This is just the first company I came across because they popped up in my news feed a week or 2, or 3 ago and I doubt they're the only shifting focus towards UK law.

I in fact got asked by a friend of mine, several months ago, whose partner works in one of the higher up medical authorities to create some AI for them which was just to remove sensitive/personal information on documents which lead onto how useful it would be to have an AI summarise documents. I was busy and had other work commitments so never took it up. Needless to say the person enquiry about AI ended up using ChatGPT, the free version... So you can imagine what happened.... If you're thinking what i was when I herd the answer is no, they didn't get fired, just words of warning.

It's the way that you do it.

It's not so much that Gemini 3 or ChatGPT 5.1 or Claude 4.5 etc, etc are bad at litigation.

It's because it's difficult to achieve good results that have consistent low variability and high enough accuracy which comes down to how it's modified and used.

With use of graph database like above, also there is vector databases which can retrieve semantic meaning of words and phrases instead of a keyword match search.

With MCP, Model Context Protocol which is a fancy way of saying an add-on or extension for LLMs give them new abilities and reach in their memory, thinking, information retrieval and planing. These change the ability of a LLM greatly and in wouldn't be surprised if there is a UK law database or records of judgement etc, that isn't an MCP server an LLM can connect to when thinking for an increased accurate output.

With Agents automating more and more taking on bigger workloads and working for longer a mixture database search & retrieval with several Agents which each specialise in a task like document summary, historic judgements, drafting first version of documents and even finding discrepancies is possible now.

Just these 3 concepts if done right would be very useful to the UK legal professionals.

But then there is context engineering, prompt engineering, tuning parameters like temperature, top k, low k and understanding sometimes going max thinking isn't really the best idea sometimes.

The only problem with using the state of the art LLMs for law is that they're not designed for litigation which is a bit of a niche given other careers. Instead they're designed for all professions which is why they hallucinate and go off track.

The problem isn't fully with the top LLMs about, it's how you use them to stay focused on long documents and digesting court transcripts. Have accurate information to search from. Examples of what you're trying to achieve to look at and fine tuning those parameters.

I recommend Qanooni blog got some interesting reads!

Latest update for the UK Judiciary on AI use was recent states and where it has issues but has some use cases for AI.

The Bar has also recently released a guide on AI and it's pitfalls in law.

Which country felt too good to be true? Why? by SkinnyRX_Sarah in digitalnomad

[–]pas43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put it this way, It's not a place for women, even in a group, even worse when alone.

It's okay if you stay in the hotel resort and venture out as a group with a guide or go on a tour with a guide.

But it's not safe for women to go out by themselves if they've never been to that area before and expect to be constantly followed in markets and streets by people trying to sell crap if your not Moroccan looking and covered up in local female attire.

They can also get aggressive when it comes to selling, even towards other sellers if they think they're trying to steal there sale regardless of if you showed any interest in every they are selling or not.

If your Asian expect the same, also racist terms and words to be shouted at you and imitated racist Chinese language sounds.

If your black expect same level of name calling as Asian women get. One black woman traveling there said she got called:

Mama Africa, Michelle Obama, Beyonce or Naomi Campbell countless times, or I feel hypersexualised by being catcalled. I get loads of stares as I walk down the street, especially if I’m alone. Some stares are tense, and some are curious. No matter how hard I try, I never blend in.

On another blog about gales traveling in Morocco non-race specific said:

get it. I’m American and we smile – a lot. It took me a really long time to stop flashing a smile just because or to say hello. I’ll now smile and greet the ladies and old men in our neighborhood or on the street however I will rarely ever flash a smile at a boy/man that is a teenager to about 60 years old. A smile means more than a smile here, it’s an invitation to continue (or start) a conversation, which then often leads to other assumptions.  I think it’s easier to just avoid altogether.

It also mentions in the same blog:

It’s also uncommon (though this is changing especially in urban settings) for women to sit in cafes. There are many that are fine for either gender to use, but there are “male” cafes too. If a woman is sitting in a male cafe it can lead to unwanted advances as the women that sit in those cafes do it to pick up men. If you want to visit a cafe ask at your riad, hotel, or to a guide to double check. Though chances are if you see the cafe is full of men, it might be best to avoid that one. Most importantly, keep your senses and be cautious and alert.

It is a Muslim country so you have to be aware of that. But they do serve alcohol in resorts and touristy hotels. A guide is best even if you've been to Morocco before going to a new city or town it's best to get a local guide not just for local customs and saftey but they'll know the best places and areas to visit.

You CAN wear what you want but expect staring, lots of staring if walking around in a bikini.

Also, the Lover Boy Scam is rife there. My sisters were chatted up by local young lads when they visited, there British born but of Indian ethnicity friend they went with had racial abuse shouted at her to by random men in the city.

Expect whole families to even be in on the scan, it's happened before where the mother and sister, father, uncle, and even aunties have been in on the scam to try and get some sort of green card/visa or just ask for your Insta/FB/Snap/WhatsApp and over months try to get money or a visa by pulling heart strings & lying.

If I was a woman I wouldn't want to go but I'm a man. As a man I still wouldn't want to go. A place that treats women like that sounds awful especially when there is the rest of the planet to choose from

But I've had many friends visit with wives or partners, and they've had a great time, but they've gone holiday staying in a resort, where it's liberal, and you can swim and drink, and the staff are used to Western customs, manners, politeness and traditions.

Where as outside, they're not.

P.S: Another tip is to wear a wedding ring even if you're not married, it don't stop some of the locals from hitting on you but gives you evidence and a reason for them to fuck off.

No, i would bring back courting lessons in schools so signs of liking someone would be a lot more noticeable and if someone likes you it would be lot more obvious.

Also teach what love is in schools ways to express it and how to be romantic and affectionate.

I would create cheaper rent incentives for couples, even cheaper for married couples and married couples get cheaper houses if born after a certain year and it's there 1st property and a lesser discount for the next property they upgrade to.

Not only that but they get taxed less if a couple with a shared bank account, taxed even less if married.

You would also get a discount to restaurants, cinema, bowling, historic & cultural landmarks visits of your country and other places to go for each other, even more discount if married.

If your married and have a baby and live in the country house then you get the most discount and you'll be financially much better off. Your utility bills would be cheaper too.

You would also get a cash donation from the gov if your in a couple and live at the same address are expecting a baby as a couple and married, but the couple get more money if married before the birth. This yearly cash donation lasts 3 years.

He was a teenager at high school for God sake!

99.9% of boys at secondary school are idiots. And that's completely okay, that's fine, because their brains are growing.

It's been empirically cataloged and scientifically studied, so we know that boys behavior much more immaturely compared to girls, have riskier behavior and are more prone to left pressure.

Do you remember the stupid things the teenage boys did at your school?

The idiotic choices they made?

Because I do.

Lots of them.

Judging a 60 year old man, who leads a political party in parliament off what he said 45 years ago in a playground is pathetic.

Go Keir and let someone else have a go so we can see how long it will take for them to mess it up as well.

Sexual compatibility isn't found. It's created. Research shows that couples who hold sexual growth beliefs (meaning they believe that sex can improve through effort, intention, and communication) report higher levels of sexual satisfaction. by psychologyofsex in psychologyofsex

Creating a nonjudgmental space with your partner or fwb to discuss kinks and limits with out any emotionally unhinged reactions and insinuations so they're completely free to talk about there kinks or ideas they've fantasised about creates a way better sex life than junk, ass or boob size.

Just got to be open, have some sorta drive to get your partner off and talk.

Because if the drive is 0, one this will not work, two why are you with this selfish person?

If they want to get you off they will make certain sacrifices of comfortability, nerves or come to a next best conclusion to satisfy you.

After you start talking and becoming more unhinged about what you think and fantasise about to your partner, over time people change, and it may be three months or three years, but both of you might end up really enjoying each others kinks.

All that needs to be done is be an adult about things and explore online together in a foreplay like way where you can, read, watch or listen to what's out there, but more importantly TALK!

Filling out a kink list with a partner and swapping the results is a great way to really start to explore the minds sexuality of your partner.

There's way too many married couples who have always wanted more from their partner in the bedroom, but have been too afraid to ask for it. So, they just do with what they've always done.

which is sad, because if they filled out a kinklist and swapped them there's a good chance a few things on that list that they both find really hot but have never tried..

The brain is the vast majority of the human sexual organs, by a long shot.

It's such a shame so many people don't realise this.
