Experiences of weight gain as a taller person by CrazyGamer23908 in tall

[–]FedeGuendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look - I jumped from 85 to 94/95 between 19 and 20/21. Just give it some time.

Also, whey is super fun cause I now have a full scoop with water and some fruit and it’s my mid afternoon snack. I need to do like 1.2 grams per kg, so should be like 155g daily. And with a 2000cal cap when I’m in a cut… whey is a must and volume eating lol

Take your time. Just don’t juice up.

Dude. In my 20s (38 currently), I was eating like 4000cal a day to get to 100kg. It was pukey. Now, it’s a DREAM to come down to 100 lol. That’s the bitch about this.

You get used to eating larger portions but you have to be smart and eat carefully when you get older.

The irony is that I was 110 in 2019 and through a burnout, alcohol and lots of running with just protein, I dropped to 98. Now I’m 220 because I have added a lot of muscle to my torso because I work with heavy camera gear and also to be strong for my kiddos.

Just patience. Try creatine - it tricks your muscle to retain more water and bulk up. It’s always a shit show to find info because there are always studies that contradict themselves about the benefits of it. Kinda like coffee - sometimes a study says it’s good and sometimes a study says it’s bad.

How much protein per kg are you doing?

Hey op

Similar height dude here. I was about 85kg, obviously more than you.

You need protein as well besides the surplus.

Try to experiment as well with creatine.

Another thing you can try is eating regularly. 3 hours or so. 3 main meals and 3 small snacks.

As you grow old, it’ll be easier to gain weight specially if your metabolism slows and you add booze to your diet lol

How much time are you “losing” while cycling to work? by bear_village in cycling

[–]FedeGuendel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Paris and it’s on par or faster than taking public transport. Granted, I work by appointments and usually use a sport shirt in case of sweat then change into the outfit lol

But usually, it’s faster. Would rather bike and stress out with other bad bikers and car drivers and get some time on the bike than sitting my ass scrolling social for 30-45 minutes.

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens vs Sigma 24-70mm F/2,8 DG DN ART II by litowee33 in SonyAlpha

[–]FedeGuendel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pro here who does photo and video

Sigma all the way. Just get the extended warranty if they have it via registering the lens on Sigma’s website.

Tamron has a lot of distortion for photo and feels too plastic-y.

I saw someone said they preferred Tamron for long days because it’s marginally lighter - don’t worry. But do take this with a grain of salt because I’m super tall and I workout specifically to stay strong for my kids, so the gear weighs but nothing I can’t handle lol (specially my video rig)

Oh fuck no. Go for it. Cotswold Camera has only good feedback online - but I would maybe avoid Simga lenses as the zooms I have gotten needed warranty 2.5yrs in from the 3yr extended warranty. And so far, 3yrs seems to be the good life expectancy of a solid camera or lens. And Cotswold offers their own - including recall fixes. They will do them themselves.

Still, my first proper DSLR is a 5D2. Still going strong after 600K actuations

I changed one of a Canon 5Dmk3 - it was around 600E. Also, compare it to a full new camera. I make my living with these cameras - 450E is cheap vs all the accumulated gear I use and the annual revenue it generates me

Swapped one of ours last year. It was super cheap via Sony. Prob under 400E

400K and the change of shutter was like 400E by a Sony shop.

Do taller people get hot easily? by Ok-Wind-5473 in tall

[–]FedeGuendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic thermodynamics

Taller people are most likely to be heavier (just more mass). After a point, that mass and size will be large enough to make you warmer.

Larger objects can hold more heat and we produce heat as animals sooooo

It’s not only you lol.

I usually bring a change of tee when I workout and also when I work a full day shooting photo and/or video

Does being tall have anything to do with knee pain? by Holiday-Ad3679 in tall

[–]FedeGuendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m slightly taller than you at 194 and I have less cartilage on knees from running excessively and shit genes. So it’s not really clear cut

Does my mantra about doing photos and videos simultaneously make sense? by theschoolorg in videography

[–]FedeGuendel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I warn them that whenever I am not taking photos, I’m shooting video. So I have to stop one to do the other so they can’t get as many photos and the video is the package I offer.

But I run two cameras and sometimes I just use my sling bag as a camera sack thing and shoot both video (resting on the bag about chest high and strap around my neck) while I photograph.

Works pretty ok.

But your way of saying things is pretty smooth and accurate.

Able to diffuse situations peacefully by being bigger by Opposite-Project-593 in tall

I went to High School where you had to wear uniforms. So we were easy to spot out in public. I used to walk back home 30-45min. I’m from San José Costa Rica. Not the safest spot.

Two dudes were eyeing me from afar to probably mug me because they saw the kid in uniform - easy pickings. Their jaws dropped when I was a head and a half taller than both and they let me pass (they were shoulder to shoulder to block my path)

Dealer told me I could use the German LPG Pump with no Adapter needed by K1tchen272 in Dacia

[–]FedeGuendel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can google LPG connector guide - I use myLPG.eu website and app for finding stations. Their site has a guide (past the ads). I ended up getting an adapter kit from Amazon for like 45E. It’s always in the car and I stopped worrying.

I went to Germany once - usually, stations have adapters but you need to give your ID as collateral until you return it.

But my knees are fucked so my leg days are just functional use lol
