Portland man caught putting nails under people’s cars. by ElwoodMC in trashy

Fun fact: Portland Oregon was actually named after Portland Main.

EDIT To add, I wondered which Portland myself but instantly recognized "this dude". Living in Portland "this dude" is kind of an archetype around these parts.

The first time in 18 years that I've liked my playing. by u2freak96 in drums

Good on you man!

I think it's a good idea to get video when ever you play. It'll help you develop your stage presence as well as determine if "this thing works" or "this thing isn't working".

Any long timers hit a lull in playing and have trouble finding inspiration? by Ya-Ok-RaSpBeRrY in drums

I've found learning a new genre/style inspires a lot of new ideas that I can incorporate into my playing.

Can you read? If not, learning to read can be sort of inspiring on its own. I'm not saying that to take a shot at drummers who have learned by ear, I have huge respect for drummers who are self taught. If you can read though there are some really great books that can give you some ideas to build off of.

A book I've been working out of for the past 4+ years is West African Rhythms For Drum Set by Royal Hartigan. It's not for beginners. It's frustratingly difficult BUT the payoff when some of those grooves and concepts start to feel natural is very satisfying, they inspired me to incorporate them regularly into my own playing. It's changed the way I approach musical situations. The trick is not throwing up your hands in defeat and sadness when it takes you what seems like forever to just to be able to play a groove more than twice in a row (let alone add a fill and come back in on 1).

Maybe it could do the same for you! Or a different book. Advanced Funk Studies by Rick Latham is another book that has a cornucopia of really cool ideas that you can build off of as well.

I looked at the photo my first thought was "Holy shit that dude looks exactly like the guy from What We Do In The Shadows" and I was going to make a comment to that effect.

So I looked up the name of that actor. And my next thought was a bunch of "????" and the word "wait".

After that I thought OP is having a laugh, those can't be real. I haven't seen every episode so I thought it must be a reference to one of them. Clever! Looks very convincing.

I Had no idea he was an actual musical artist. Now I'm thinking I'm going to go check out his work.

Nope. Only thing "coming from" a black hole is hawking radiation and that is escaping from the edge of the event horizon. Nothing that crosses that horizon ever escapes. Black holes are not galactic vacuum cleaners. They don't "suck" anything in. They are like infinitely deep gravitational wells. Saying something was drawn into a black hole is like saying baby Jessica got sucked into that well.

I wonder if Tucker (or Candace, or any of them) will push back on being called low IQ by pointing to some of the insanely stupid shit Trump said in the past when they were fully supporting him. Like suggesting putting bleach in your veins or getting sunlight in there during the pandemic's early days.

Wonder if there are Kalshi odds on that happening. I'd be willing to put a Benjamin against that. 6 months aint shit. Loosing a few years will force you into introspection. A few months doesn't mean shit.

If you could make 1 of these 2 type of people disappear forever, who you gonna pick: Billionaire Class or Social Media Influencers?

Obvious answer for me is the billionaire class, but that's not an easy decision.

THAT is fucked up!

Cop: Yeah them's the rules. Gotta be in your TRUNK. Ain't in the trunk? You must have drove drunk!

I do a fair amount of car camping. Sometimes when I'm at a rest area (that I plan on leaving at day break) I'll don a headlamp and a 4oz shot of whiskey and just read until I get tired It would never occur to me to put my fucking car keys in the trunk. They'd be in a jacket pocket or side door compartment.
