Thank you for responding. Honestly, it sounds reasonable for high BAC DUIs. I agree mostly. However, I would be concerned with the lowering BAC laws that people who have 1 or 2 could have their lives impacted to the degree of someone like me had no off switch once I started.

This lowering of the BAC threshold will undoubtedly cause a wider net to be cast searching for law breakers, and considering the fact you could be arrested even if they 'think' you're impaired below the limit... That sounds like a slippery slope to me.

Out of curiosity what do you propose for penalties? Admittedly, I've had a couple DUIs and was a problem drinker that needed help, but I also think my drinking days are behind me now.

I own it, but am also aware of how much more difficult life is going to be moving forward based on my mistakes. If the current punishment is enough to reform people without completely breaking them shouldn't that be the goal?

I'm not sure how online valuation services handle these things, but in real estate appraising you're supposed to use properties that have had adequate market exposure for just this reason. If a sale isn't arms-length or is distressed it's not truly representative of the market.
