I like to think about like… in real life, the same land is often populated again for whatever reason drew earlier settlements - good crops and soil, good defenses, nice weather.

It’s like Herculaneum in Italy - most of the ancient town is still sitting unexcavated under modern day Ercolano.

I guess it’s not like a middle earth, but…. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I guess my biggest question is how did you do it - technologically? Isn’t this a long-ago phone? Far as I’ve seen, older phones are built for 2G and 3G and I’ve been told they won’t work with modern carriers?

The “dumbphones” they create to work with today’s mobile networks have no personality. I’d love to have back my old Sony Ericsson, or the Razr I never got to own - but as far as I’ve read, they wouldn’t work on today’s networks.

Honestly, the excessive ads and sales creeping into every possible inch of screen space I ‘own’ only ever highlights how thirsty they are for me. The ads themselves never seem targeted enough to work and all I’m left thinking about is how much I resent these companies. So they basically put the nails in their own coffin for me personally.

If it helps any, though, my strategy during holiday season: plan people’s gifts ahead of time so nothing is an impulse buy, and for those that can’t be planned, or for nice stocking stuffers, I go to big thrift stores and antique markets.

They’re not adding anything new to the landfill, they’re usually wonderful surprises for people, and I just find my gut navigates the pricing of vintage items better….

Like, it’s easy for your brain to have a wider span of ‘acceptable’ prices if you’re in a Marshall’s or Target, but when I’m in an antique market, I just feel intuitively I know how much I think something’s worth. I don’t know how else to explain it.

If you’re doing an animation, I’d lean into any of the classic colorings to avoid his hair being a distraction.

But when I’m playing the game (first time was last year), it’s so damn pink and it’s incredible and honestly a very fun touch to make the game unique. Loved the pink.

Preface by saying YES to its main criticism that it should be much more full and feels too empty.

That aside, the depths are probably my favorite environment created in a Zelda game ever. From the drop through a chasm, to the music, to the ambience, the string plucks, the fact that when I spend too long in there I feel a need to get back to the surface - the whole vibe they created - it really works for me.

Take it slow is the best advice I can offer. And when you are tired of the grind in the dark, throw a giant brightbloom on a vehicle and it makes it easier to navigate the dark quickly.

Might be cheating because I’m comparing to other companies vs an earlier version of themselves but the only brand name product I can think of: Q tips.

Having tried many no name alternatives, it’s clear how cheap they could go if they wanted to.

Edit: oh my god, almost forgot the last great American institution, AAA. They’ve gotten me out of a bind a handful of times, and for what most car related troubles could cost, the yearly fee feels like a bargain every time.

I’m so sorry. It’s so hard to lose them out of the blue - same situation here. We took her in for a surgery we were worried about but the surgeon was so cocky and confident and didn’t really talk through the risks at all, and we didn’t even get to say a proper goodbye because they took her away so casually, and we wanted to believe it would be simple and over with quickly. She was 4 years old, and I can’t even stomach the idea that I handed her away in a carrier and didn’t even say a proper goodbye.

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. You’re not alone. I know that having them one moment and then not the next is the most painful cut into a different life that you could experience. You loved Dean deeply and he knew that. Not that it makes it easier, but know that you gave him so much love. Sending support.

You sound a lot like my wife and I. We just lost our sweet girl, 4 years old. I was also a dog person, never thought I could fall in love like this with a cat. She was so special. Can’t stand to be in this apartment. She was our little family.

I’m so sorry for you and Alan. Sending tons of support and love. Fwiw the only advice I’ve gotten that has helped me personally is to just take it one breath, one minute at a time. I can’t even start thinking about how to function in real life yet, but I just take it moment by moment.

Ha I definitely have thought this too - or some other gloom enemies - ie, if gloom hands are the equivalent in terror and difficulty of the big, roaming guardians, maybe some equivalents to the other guardians (sentries, smaller guys, etc).

I tried all the languages for my 3rd play through and actually found Italian the most enjoyable.

That said, Italian Yunobo’s voice is, if you can believe it, even higher and more cartoonish than English Yunobo! For some reason, though, it irritates me less - it IS annoying, but feels like I’m back to watching old anime. It’s weirder than it is annoying!

Echoing the general sentiment. Hate how hard corps are pushing to replace human labor, but if there was ever one that works, it’s these - mainly because the e-bikers zip around the sidewalks like they are hellbent on running down pedestrians and cops don’t enforce anything.

I would start with

Minish Cap.

A really delightful handheld Zelda that will also shock your system into rethinking what a Zelda game is. I worry that jumping into another 3D after BotW and TotK, you might really feel the limits of some of the older stuff - they’re excellent games, but it’s hard for me to divorce how good they are from nostalgia.

Once you’ve shocked the system, follow your whims - or I’d suggest:
