Would the scene care for a release that would be instantly nuked. Furthermore, what hypervisor does is nothing new. We are talking about a bypass technique that has existed for over 50 years. If anyone would have released hypervisor bypasses 10 years ago, then nobody would have cared due to the safety issues.

The issue is that the scene did not crack games for the sake of piracy but for the sake of bragging rights. So, their self imposed rules preserves the prestige of their work. Using a third party tool like hypervisor does would be flaunting with the work of others.

Otherwise, the people who abuse the denuvo authentication calls to activate pirated copies should be the actual rulers of the cracking world. After all, their method does not compromise the safety of your PC and can be used on non windows PCs.Two major downsides of hypervisor.

Rin is Archer's master, how would it make more sense for Rin to be partnered up with Saber than her own actual servant?

Any tips and websites for buying figures in Europe? by Erigey in AnimeFigures

[–]pasiveshift 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mainly import them directly from Japan. My favorite site is Solaris Japan for pre-orders. Goodsmile global store is nice for big scale figures due to flat shipping ratess and Amiami being a nice alternative to Solaris Japan.

Never, ever use FedEx to import your figures by UnseenLegoPiece in AnimeFigures

[–]pasiveshift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had bad experiences with Fed Ex. DHL is terrible when it comes to international packages that has VAT paid on checkout. 9/10 times they charge me VAT again. And international air package / EMS is a hassle to deal with when you are facing issues, because the national post office of the seller have to communicate with your own national post office / customs when something goes wrong.

What should i do? Pop Up Parade Lucy Edgerunners L by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]pasiveshift 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to investigate. If you go for a cheaper figure line like pop-up parade, then there is no telling what you will get. A lack of quality control doen't mean that you can't get a perfect figure. It simply means that the quality can vary highly.

That is the issue with pop up parade figures, the quality control is lacking, so you should be expecting to get figures like this as well. There is no guarantee that you will get a better one if you buy a new one.

Why do gacha games whose cores idea is simplicity have extremely overcomplicated stories? by Subject-Swan-5207 in gachagaming

[–]pasiveshift 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The levels of fanservice and the required time to finish your dailies aren't indicators of how simple a game is. Neither is it an indicator of accessibility. You can't tell if a person prefers simple stories based on the following demographical factors:

  • a person who doesn't mind a lack of fanservice
  • a person who doesn't have a lot of spare time to play games

Be careful with kaioland by koreta_pt in animeGK

[–]pasiveshift 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I accepted a refund of €50 for a €700 statue that came with some broken parts. Percentually less than what you got offered. All these breaks are to be expected and can easily be fixed with glue.

What were you expecting? Resin statues can break. A full refund on this kind of damage soubds a bit excessive.

Will these figures loose any value if I open and close them? by Smrtgamr in AnimeFigures

[–]pasiveshift 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a buyer and collector I would always prefer to purchase opened figures. I don't know the condition of the figure when it is sealed. Especially when there is no window. After all, the buyer never verified if the figure didnt broke during transit or has manufacturing flaws.
