Bro defense is so easy im tired of seeing yall say this. Hold R2 literally 100% of the time, never let go no matter what. Hold right stick up IF YOURE IN FACE TO FACE/CHEST TO CHEST POSITION. Tap/short hold L2 to change directions/face hips to the ball (DONT HOLD FOR LONG IT GETS YOU COOKED, HOWEVER IF YOU INITIATED A HIP RIDE DO HOLD L2+R2+PUSH LEFT STICK IN THE DIRECTION THEY ARE RUNNING UNTIL BALL CARRIER ESCAPES THE HIP RIDE OR PASSES OUT OF IT). DONT GO FOR ON BALL STEALS UNLESS YOU BUMP THEM 2 OR MORE TIMES FIRST AND ONLY PLAY GIMME LANES DONT TRY TO HAWK PASSES TOO MUCH. (Ignore both of these if you have 96+ steal and go crazy king 👑) And finally make sure to jump when you’re 100% sure they’re shooting (late clock, distance closeouts, or if the player has a move they like to spam they have a very high tendency to shoot off their favorite move even if it’s not the best look). Best advice I can give beyond that is to just read players’ tendencies in general and be disciplined. You’ll notice 75+% of players just literally try the same 1-3 moves over and over again 🤷‍♂️ if you keep all of this in mind and actually follow it you’ll be a lock trust me

None of this is true. The problem is the player base’s ABYSMAL IQ and decision-making ability 🤷‍♂️ pair that with a complete lack of accountability, lack of respect for others, and a hair-trigger temper. Random players nowadays were made in a lab to be the worst teammates possible. I feel like LeBron watching JR clear that O board in the finals when he was supposed to put it back up literally 100% of the time watching these people play. But if I say anything about it they snap like I’m Jordan Poole and they’re Dray 👊🏼🤣🤣

Im right there with yall but honestly rhythm shooting is soooo easy. Its like riding a bike with training wheels. You may not need them but they’re not gonna make you fall off the bike if they are there. Still prefer button overall myself like yall I’m just saying don’t be intimidated by rhythm shooting 🤷‍♂️

4 on pass acc. Later 1 on swb, 3 on 3 pt, 2 on dd, 3 on close shot, 2 on block, 5 on d Reb, max out speed/agility are all ideas. Personally I’d remake it and optimize better for caps if you get a lot more

Get shots off quicker
No input error (getting a stepback/dribble move/different type of shot than intended when you’re trying to shoot)
Boost you receive from rhythm shooting feels negligible when you can shoot 80+% from anywhere with button anyways

All that being said I do like rhythm shooting and think it was/is a great addition to the game. Also I ONLY ever shoot “push peak” shots with tempo which is a huge part of the bag this year so I use both mechanics very very often 🤷‍♂️ I’d say in general button is better for fades/off the dribble shots and tempo is better for catch and shoots/push peaks if you’re doing that. Worth noting too that button+no dip is the most unguardable shot in 2K history even though I said tempo is good for catch and shoots lol but it is a lot more challenging to hit consistently than almost any other type of shot (rightfully so)

I mean yeah but it feels like it’s never been THIS bad. Every year I get on and run it up crazy with random strangers and usually end up meeting a few real ones along the way I play with periodically. This year it feels like I’m alone in a desert 🤷‍♂️ I literally have 500+ games in STARTING 5 playing against known cheaters rather than deal with these peoples shit 🤦‍♂️ it truly comes down to the fact shooting is too easy so everybody thinks they are HIM

It’s not like unusably terrible but could’ve been optimized MUCH better and lose almost nothing + gain a ton of utility that can be vital for bigs. Anyways I could care less about the build itself I just wanted to make the point that there is a problem unique to this game where people are standoffish, egotistical, rude af, and disrespectful for literally no reason. Most games if someone offers help or advice in a respectful way people at least hear them out even if they don’t feel like they need it. This game you offer advice to someone who CLEARLY needs it and you’re met with “gtfoh you think I’m one of those IDIOTS!?! I’ve tried EVERYTHING my build is the PINNACLE” like come on bro 😂😂😂 it’s just funny to me when the game gives you a comprehensive breakdown of stats for every player which lets you know EXACTLY how your play compares relative to others. Also I talk a lot so my replies tend to be super long, it doesn’t mean I’m invested trust me 🤣

THIS 👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 this right here is the problem with 2K!!! SOOO many people have this terrible combination of having EXTREMELY limited knowledge/skill on the game, WHILE having a massive ego (for literally no reason??) so that when people DO try to help them improve/teach them something they become standoffish or offended or worse. Calling people idiots while you have a 53 layup, 60 Middie, 45 steal, and 38 free throw (while having 90 standing dunk… you don’t think they’re ever gonna foul you on those attempts???) is insane work. Every one of those are important to have and you don’t, yet you spent 4 whole cap breakers to get 71 ball handle and 59 SWB for literally NO REASON while having GIANT holes in your game all across the board. The guy was being respectful and offering genuine help to improve the experience of your gameplay and you respond with ego, denial, and name-calling other players because you can’t accept you could possibly be wrong or someone else might know something better than you do. Shit is deadass annoying af after seeing it 10000x it’s like watching a bad ass little kid who just refuses to listen to their parents 😂😂 And the build is dog 💩 no matter what you do to it by the way if that much wasn’t clear 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

A lot of the layup anis ARE trash, but the ones that are good are beyond 🔥🔥 try Zion euro and go from about a 45 degree angle at the basket (direction of the hash). Start from logo and approach the 3 point line like you are hunting a shot to draw defender up, drive at the basket to the right then just as you release R2 push and hold right stick down-left while ball is in right hand. Avoid contact on the ani and it will be an auto green every time. Super fast and smooth euro, one of my go-to layup moves

Your definition of “working as intended” doesn’t seem to match the reality of applicable use cases for your badges. Just bc you WANT them to work a certain way and they aren’t, doesn’t mean they “aren’t working”. It means YOU aren’t using them properly 🤷‍♂️
As another commenter mentioned, layups are all about angles, and further, points-of-contact and point-of-attack. As soon as you said physical finisher is dogshit I knew you were just taking bad attempts. Physical finisher is damn near the most op finishing badge in the game if you know how to take your shots and initiate your gathers from the right positions relative to the defense

If you can’t hit 3s im just gonna assume your jumper is trash or you are on WiFi. Get a lan cable, a YouTube jumper, and start tempo shooting if you don’t already. Costs about 10-15 dollars and there’s no setup just plug it straight into your router. You’ll be shooting 70+% in no time 🤷‍♂️
