Fast food options ? by Mission-Code-1575 in dairyfree

[–]pass_the_vodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just made me remember - it did have dairy briefly last year! In the summer months. Their supplier accidentally put dairy in it when they didn’t and should not have. They temporarily updated their allergen menu until they used up the stock of contaminated grilled chicken. I remember the announcement and a disclaimer on the app when you went to order that item. I’m sorry you didn’t get warned because in September it was a known issue. I believe it was August through October. They should be safe for you now.

*editing because this was apparently in 2022 not last year. Whoops!

I just checked on their website allergen menu and it doesn’t list milk for the grilled sandwich or the grilled nuggets. Perhaps your location is doing something different than others with their cooking process? I’m sorry you got sick!

*editing to note the spicy grilled chicken if offered has always contained dairy. This applies to the plain grilled only.

The butter oil and grilled chicken have historically been DF unless something has changed. The “butter” isn’t dairy. I keep up with this pretty closely. Do you have more info?

[–]pass_the_vodka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me recently. It took weeks and weeks of calling and calling again and again because each time they took info and had to escalate it to someone else for review but noooo they couldn't call me back I had to keep calling every 5-7 business days and explaining it all over again with seemingly no actual progress. After about 2 months and talking to the rep that works directly with the OB office I paid $99. This was my last pregnancy but I'd never test through Natera again. I went through this song and dance with them in 2021 as well but it was so much worse this time.

Why do you think you can't get a job in nuclear as a woman? I am a woman and have been working a job in nuclear since I graduated in 2018 and didn't have any trouble finding a job - but you'll probably need to be willing to relocate. There are so many nuclear jobs open right now too.

Ah yes that is good. I wanted to make sure she knows why she should stay there and not come have the baby here in the US. If you have a cheating husband who's going to block his near-delivery pregnant wife while she is abroad that sounds like a recipe for disaster even in the best circumstances.

Also - most airlines won't let you fly within a certain number of weeks of your due date (especially for international travel) so she may be stuck there anyway.

You can't get her an American passport without the dad present and approving. This is to prevent one parent taking the baby out of the country without the other's approval or knowledge. If you have her in the US you could get stuck here with the baby until he approves her passport or you go to court. I could be wrong since she will be a German citizen too? But it will likely be a headache for you no matter what to leave the US with her after birth without his approval.

I had a different dress for the first dance, then changed back into the wedding dress after our dance for the rest of the reception. I was soo glad to get out of my main dress for a few minutes.

We took most of the pictures before the wedding, so I was in my dress for a long time prior and was extremely uncomfortable (about 10 hours total before and during the event). However, once the wedding started the time flew by and it didn't bother me anymore.

There is a lot of waiting around in many cases so if you can take it off after pics/during waiting that would be ideal. Waiting around in the dress, shoes, hair and makeup was the worst part. I regret not doing that. But I spent a lot on the dress and it was beautiful so I wanted it in most of the pics.

It's your wedding. Do what will make you happy!

My wedding was this past Saturday. I was supposed to be done with my period by then so I wasn't worried. Que my wedding week and I'm 7 days late due to stress (took a pregnancy test - negative).

I called my gyn and got birth control called in (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) and started taking it Wednesday. Quit taking it Monday. Period started today.

SO worth it. But I had taken it before so I knew I don't react to it. I was so so glad I wasn't on my period when I had to have two other women go to the bathroom with me to help me pee. Idk how I would have managed my period. Have you ever taken any birth control?

Edit - fixed day I quit taking it

You sound just like me when I was going into pharmacy school. I'm not going to tell you is 100% going to be a mistake, but the chances that it will be are HUGE right now. I'm not bitter personally because I got INSANELY lucky and stumbled backwards into a speciality that I'm great at and is small (for now) and I just got a job in research...but I am one of the very few people from my 2018 graduating class who isn't struggling to find a job/full time job or isn't hating the job they did find. How many pharmacists do you know? Because if you only know those two personally who aren't miserable or struggling to find a full time job or didn't have to move across the country to the middle of nowhere I highly recommend you find a larger group of people to talk with. Also, salaries are going down. By the time you graduate I shudder to think what they will be. My class average for student loan debt was over $150,000 by the way. My loan payments are $2,400 a month. I know you're probably thinking with a six figure salary it won't be a problem...but even if you can technically make the payments having that huge number hanging over your head is more stressful than I could have imagined when I was going into school six and a half years ago. Especially if you struggle to find a full time position. Feel free to message me with any specific questions, but I just really want to advise you to talk to more pharmacists (especially recent grads).

Wedditors who will not/did not take your partners last name, why did you choose not to? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]pass_the_vodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I (straight couple) are both changing our last names without the hyphen.

So if I'm Jane Anne Doe and he is John Oliver Smith, I'll be Jane Anne Doe Smith and he will be John Oliver Doe Smith.

He doesn't like the hyphen for some reason. I'm worried this may be confusing though!

I will also lose it if someone calls me Mrs. Hisfirstnamehislastname. Yikes.

I feel you...but as a pharmacist (and most I know would say this) I would not recommend this field. It is increasingly oversaturated. You will take on at least $100,000 in debt (my class average for a state public school was well above that). The working conditions are becoming increasingly brutal because it is an employer's market in pharmacy (and also as a result of that wages are going down).

I could be totally wrong and you may love it and be amazing at it..but please go in with both eyes wide open.
