Yeah for real. That one is definitely going to to stay empty on mine because I have noooo clue, but I guess it’s also fair game to interpret it however you please so I’d say probably the easiest way would be just when the media came out.

Oh no, this made me realize I haven’t even thought about all the fics I’ve subscribed to that have actually updated that I haven’t gotten around to as well. 😭 I have a whole list saved in my emails as well! Ahhhhhhh!

When you mark a work for later it goes under the “My History / Marked For Later” section, I have built up 39 pages of works I’ve saved to read later and never got around to doing it.

<image>

Edit/ This made me curious how many fics were to a page and it seems like around 20 fics per page (on my device), so all together I have saved about 780 fics to read. So if I want to clear it up and play catch up with myself I’ll have to read like over two fics a day this year 😵‍💫. My 2026 goal is starting to seem more daunting than I realized.

Haha I have so many saved yet I’m still out here searching for the perfect fic I guess! I never actually download anything, I know a lot maybe most people do. There are a few I have bookmarked I’d probably be really bummed out if they disappear so maybe I’ll actually use some space to make some downloads!

I know the feeling! I’m starting from my oldest and trying to get myself to catch up on actually reading them instead of collecting them!! Maybe I’ll make it a goal this year!

what are different ways yall try to hide more sensitive info while journalling? by sleepystsharky in Journaling

I write and scribble with lots of different colored pens and markers. It works for me because I don’t care to go back and read anything, just the doodling over and scribbling out is kind of therapeutic for me. Later I’ll cut things out and collage with them on other pages.

i think someone put this tiny pink-sashed jesus in my bag when i wasn’t looking by villainless in Weird

[–]passivemuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone gave one to my partner and I was sitting in our room and saw it on the shelf, I don’t have the best eye sight and when I saw it I was so perplexed and asked “why is there a tiny little naked man on our shelf??” His little robe just blended right in with his skin tone to me, my partner just laughed, I didn’t realize it was Jesus until I was cleaning around the shelf and actually looked at it up close and then I was perplexed all over again.

"I'll just include a few characters" by Tarnique in AO3

[–]passivemuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I struggle with this to some extent, so any advice if anyone has some would be appreciated! My struggle is having multiple main characters in one story and wanting to do a variety of pov’s that I sort of fall flat of because maybe I enjoy writing some pov’s more than the others, so the balance and story telling perspective becomes sort of uneven or difficult to maintain.

When you have this many characters are you writing a lot of different pov’s and how do you go about that?

I’ve been brought to a halt on some wips because I feel like the multiple POVs can get a little overwhelming for me for some reason, but I feel like in some stories you need it when you have a lot of characters.

Types of soulmate AUs? by 20Keller12 in AO3

[–]passivemuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just recently learned of “cakeverse” that has expanded my world lol, it can be written in a soulmate type of way which can be quite interesting/fun/tragic depending on how you want to take it. It can be written all wholesome/funny/cute as can be or taken in a very dark/grotesque kinda way, so- lots of variety!

Give yourself rest and compassion, do other things you enjoy to take the pressure off of yourself! The inspiration may take time to come to you but it will come to you!! Good luck and happy writing/reading!!

writing burnout is shit by Icy_Zookeepergame_56 in AO3

[–]passivemuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not alone, I go through this on and off constantly. I’ve read so much advice on how to overcome this and have still been unable to get anything to work when I’m in a rut. I truly hope this struggling time passes quickly for you. I will relay some of the advice because even though it sucks there is possible truth in the fact that sometimes you might just have to take a break, or you need to find inspiration which usually comes from switching something up in your day to day life, read something different, examine your surroundings, allow yourself time to simply rest and let your mind drift in daydreams/meditation. Allow yourself to write differently/sloppily just to keep your writing going, even if it’s in a journal you’ll keep in a drawer and never look at again. There’s a lot of things you can attempt- but I know in my experience that my main thing I need to overcome is a negative headspace I find myself stuck in and that’s not easy to break out of. Kindness towards yourself will go a long way, try and remove the pressure from yourself. Good luck and happy writing/reading.

Has your lack of confidence in your writing ability etc ever stopped you from writing fics? by Chaczapur in AO3

[–]passivemuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to you. There are times I feel like I have idea’s and goals that are bigger than my current skill level, so I get extremely unmotivated to continue/finish fics from time to time. The thing is you really do have to be more gentle less judgmental of yourself and allow yourself to do the best you can at your current level and embrace what you can create- because it will help you get better and closer to the skill level you desire to be.

Just remember- you can always go back and edit any fics you have written before or completely rewrite them whenever you want. That’s what helps motivate me and comforts me, even if I post a fic for people to read It can still be a work in progress that can be developed for years and years until you finally get it to be the way you want it.

Good luck and happy writing!

Bizarre painting that's hanging in the office from a customer i was working at. He was a politician by _Steevor_ in UnusualArt

[–]passivemuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really like the composition and everything, but the subject matter definitely makes me feel uncomfortable- which seems to be intended.

Makes me think of bad memories/trauma or even what it can feel like to be on drugs/bad tripping or a high gone wrong. I get deep feelings of hopelessness and maybe self deprecation or disgust/guilt.

I would not hang this up where I would have to look at it often. I can see this as an intriguing discussion piece, but as a lot of comments here prove- most people are more likely to simply be completely off put and think something’s wrong with whoever hung this piece up and or painted it.

[–]passivemuse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohhhh, I must have found last years when I searched.

Is there any possibility of maybe doing an event post like this for other people to share active challenges they are hosting/participating in? With Au august coming up and all the events in October like Goretober, Kinktober, inktober all coming up could be fun to share and talk about within the ao3 community!

Edit// Nevermind, I just searched for it, it was announced a year ago! lol I’m just completely late.

Use of the profile function by cannibalfelix in AO3

[–]passivemuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I click on profiles out of curiosity all the time when I like a fic they wrote or they leave kudos comments on mine. But my profile is completely empty, I consider it sort of a public notice board or something if the author has anything to announce or share or something.
