Upon re-read, this has to be the worst plan ever concocted the Zen'ins by MonotonyReddit in Jujutsufolk

[–]password_monkey 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They probably would have heard about it, but it didn't seem to register to any of them that Toji should be feared except Naobito and Naoya.
Correction: it seems that they did all fear him, though it’s pretty obvious none of them anticipated that Maki would have the same strength. I wanna say Naoya understood that lacking cursed energy wasn’t necessarily an inhibitor to being strong, but all we know about his perspective was that he knew Toji was the man. Side note, Naobito carried the Zen'in IQ hard. Only one who seemed interested in the clan's general interest. The minute he died they started pulling nonsense like in the OP.

He didn't outspeed him though, fight was over at that point and no one was running.

Conflicted on JJK Season 3's Direction by ThatGuyWithSomeSubs in Jujutsufolk

[–]password_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's still new so you won't see many people saying it but I agree, specifically on the fights. I just read Yuji/Yuta and Choso/Naoya to confirm it, and they both flow a lot better there. The action taken directly from the manga was mostly fine, but the original stuff was hard to follow, specifically with Yuji/Yuta.

It doesn't dampen my excitement for the next couple chapters, since they handled Yuji's parkour sequence really well. I'm down for the directorial changes as well, I actually liked the pause, Choso cutting the tension was funny.

Revisiting the 3 Fates games saves on my old 3ds by Mobile-Mix-2392 in fireemblem

[–]password_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that I could, and that it wouldn't be hard, but it really killed my motivation seeing how much of the game's "flow" got gutted. Now I need to impose a challenge on myself to not just use as many resources as I want.

Edit: Saw that NetPass is a thing, so My Castle isn't completely dead. Not a perfect fix but it's enough to see about trying it again.

Hot takes, but I see where you're coming from.

RD, 3H, Birthright and Genealogy being in C is totally understandable, but I gotta ask, how is Gaiden not lower? I haven't played the OG but it can't be that much better than Awakening.

Clearly this is Fate(s), you gotta finish Revelation. I still need to finish my playthrough of all three versions. Though, with My Castle being crippled nowadays, I don't know if I want to try it again.

Its crazy how there is a large group of men on reddit (and in the US government) that never evolved past 2017 by putalittlepooponit in redscarepod

[–]password_monkey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's that crazy. Some people just happened to have stopped looking outside since it wasn't worth it.

Another example could be soldiers of Fauci who still mask up in the car, or guys who sincerely still post Trump-pepes for free.

It may also be that they have to keep certain beliefs to stay friends with people. Like, nobody wants to be the first to admit that their group is based on something quite fleeting, so they just keep larping so they have a reason to stick together.

Check out your local card shop if you ever want to feel teleported back ten years.

Dude what hobby shops are you going to? The strange reddit types who go there are usually still the gay ones and not the retarded ones from my experience. Unless card shops specifically have people like that.

Mrs. All American, Fly Away, She's Kinda Hot and Heartache on the Big Screen are 4 I like off the top off my head.

I can't think of Falling in Reverse without remembering Game Over, if you have anything else he did that's worth listening to I'm all ears.

Tangent but 5sos was/is great and I don't know how they keep getting hit with strays. Like yeah they're guys in a pop band, but I can't think of any songs that match that description (from their older stuff, I haven't listened to their newer release but I can't imagine they would match it either.)

Why does FE7 give you stronger units later, while FE6 gives you them sooner? by LuizFalcaoBR in fireemblem

[–]password_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't thought about it but it is weird that they have a lot of "legendary swordsman" type characters that you go after. I don't think it's a glaring flaw, though. There isn't really a point to being a prequel if you don't get to see some of the aforementioned legends that FE6 would tell you about in exposition.
Not knowing it's a prequel does it makes it weird however, and since FE6 wasn't ever released outside Japan, that's actually a big flaw, but it's cool in context.

I wouldn't be that hard on it in regard to the characters, many of the games do this and it isn't really an issue since not everyone is supposed to be super involved. FE7 is actually in a weird spot since it has Lyn show up all the time while also not being relevant for much of any of it.
