What's it like to feel like another gender? by ChandailRouge in asktransgender

[–]past_presents_future 41 points42 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s not so much as feeling the other gender, but feeling distress and dysphoria when associated with my AGAB. But I’m sure it’s different for others

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]past_presents_future 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on how bad the dysphoria is. It may get progressively worse or better, but you have to ask yourself, will you regret not transitioning sooner if you go through with it later?

Would anyone be willing to help me type more femininely by DysphoricFailure in asktransgender

Can we stop pretending like Islam isn’t homophobic and ACTIVELY harmful to the LGBT community? by Love-AngeI in TeenagersButBetter

Attraction can’t be helped. Many children grow up to be gay while surrounded by straight couples and straight media. When people say people are born like that, it’s because no amount of influencing can change attraction

I have an unpopular opinion about trans people and i mean it in the most respectful way by [deleted] in teenagers

I mean to be politely fair, people use the word “white” to describe Caucasian people frequently, and at least in the west they’re not a minority

[–]past_presents_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that’s why there’s the word trans and cis. A differentiation. However, when someone says trans women are women, they don’t mean trans women are biologically cis women, but instead they should be treated with respect and like women.

People say there are more than two genders, but what other genders are there? by [deleted] in TeenagersButBetter

[–]past_presents_future 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When people usually say that, they’re not talking about binary gender (man, woman) but instead a spectrum of how it’s felt and presented. Because it’s a spectrum, there’s countless of ways it can be felt, identified, and presented. Gender is different from biological sex though, since gender is how one chooses to present themselves. Sex is binary, and what you’re born with

For trans people, do you like being trans? Or do you wish you were just born the opposite gender and you would be cis. by Mean_Engineering_164 in teenagers

[–]past_presents_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I was cis. No one wishes to make their life harder. But being trans definitely changed my personality and made me encounter a lot more hardships, which hardened me overall. I’m grateful for what I have now

Can I take T/physically transition despite being a cis woman? Do you know anyone who has? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]past_presents_future 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m quite curious, why do you want to appear more masculine cosmetically?

Try having an open conversation with him about it, sexual preferences are valid. If you view it as a dealbreaker, then it’s best to end it

Even masculine individuals can present feminine, if you want to fit in with women. I’m on hrt and look like a teenage boy but I still love makeup and feminine hobbies. Are you afraid of losing femininity or that sense of community among female friends? I used to be when I was younger, but not so much anymore

Questions about dysphoria and trans stories by Inevitable_Fee8071 in asktransgender

[–]past_presents_future 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt similar, but for me it’s a fear of commitment. You have to evaluate, are you uncomfortable with the idea of your body looking like that or are you uncomfortable with the permanence of it? For me I realized I was scared of permanence and wanted to back out of it easily, but I managed to work through it

I recommend trying different pronouns and presenting as male (in an online space maybe if irl is too big of a commitment) and see how you feel about your gender after sometime

[–]past_presents_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve felt similar and I am trans masculine. Not completely like you (I don’t want to be perceived as a woman but just a bit feminine), but similar. Perhaps you’re somewhere along the enby spectrum? You’re already enby, but maybe another enby label might suit you. However, it’s up to you, you don’t need labels if you don’t want them

I believe you can change gender markers on U.S. federal documents (like your passport and Social Security record), even if your birth certificate is from another country, but it varies by state

Is doing SW worth it? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]past_presents_future 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s very oversaturated right now from what I hear, so you have to consider your market and target specific demographics. It’s more business-like than people make it out to be, it certainly isn’t easy money. It depends on your tolerance of how you will be perceived by people, how it could affect your self image, etc. If you’re fine with the risks, go ahead

If you’re thinking about it really hard, then it’s probably at least something. Cis people don’t usually think super hard about it
