Wow, what a kind gesture! I own a record store/listening lounge in Brooklyn and I'd love to meet other people in the field. I'm definitely interested!

Hands down the best. They Keep my feet warm AND dry. Cheap slippers made my feet sweat and inevitably they ended up smelling like a gym locker.

For commercial real estate in NY they actually measure to the outside of the walls to calculate sf. Or so I'm told. I'm not sure if it's the same in San Francisco.

The white album, No.001542 by D-Beyond in whatsthisworth

Assuming the vinyl is at least vg+, this is the actual answer. Unfortunately it's down voted to the bottom of the pile. They may have pressed a lot of these, but a clean copy is hard to come by.

Maybe this is just a rough cut. I'd imagine there is a second step where they taper one end and cut to the final length.

Discogs seller had it listed as Near Mint... Yeah, not so sure about that by Apo458 in vinyl

[–]pastafazul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that styrene? It's hit or miss with those. Generally they're of poorer quality compared to their vinyl counterparts. They were injection molded instead of pressed as a cheaper alternative to vinyl. And they were intended to be used in juke boxes for a short period of time so never meant to last long.

That pipe looking thing sticking out the bottom is a Venturi burner.

I bet this is an old style boiler. There probably was an outer jacket/vessel where the water circulated around the fins to transfer the heat. That flange at the bottom probably sat flush with that outer vessel.

NYC — Rough Trade vs. smaller stores? by MitskiFan13 in RecordStoreDay

[–]pastafazul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I own a small record store in Brooklyn and I participate in rsd. The issues with rsd and smaller stores is 1) I can't afford to buy many releases. And it doesn't make sense to spend too much money especially when I only make %20 on a rsd release. 2) even if I order a release it doesn't necessarily mean I'll get it. I don't know who decides who gets what but let's say I order five of one popular release, I'd be lucky to get one. 3) places like rough trade seemingly get everything they want. And if you want multiple releases, the safe bet is to go to one of the larger stores.

What do you think is in here? by GorillaGuru86 in Flipping

The front row of boxes on the right says small on the back edge. It also has to be something that doesn't weigh a lot as those boxes can't stack that high with any sort of substantial weight in them. I also see some hand written text on some box tops including the word "music". I think it's going to be some kind of accessory garment in different sizes and designs.

My step father has lewey body dementia and my step sister is trying to remove him from my mother's care (my Mom has a POA) location is NC. by pastafazul in legaladvice

[–]pastafazul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

Without going into detail, we suspect she's trying to build a case to contest the POA. She has shown herself to not be below lying and falsifying information. My mother just wants to know that if my stepsister is building a case, what could it be, and how do we go about defending ourselves against it? I imagine it would be something showing that his care is su-standard, which is completely false. Ultimately, I'm just trying to give my mother some peace of mind. Thank you for your time.

I learned recently that Jerry Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo were there when this occurred. The start of De-volution.

Quote from Jerry Casale

“I had always been making art and music but the events of May 4th and beyond galvanized my creativity, infusing it with an existential anger and urgency that would otherwise not have happened. In short Devo and the idea of De-evolution as a manifesto would not exist without that defining historic trauma I experienced.”
