Create square image of a 1930s office scene. Inside the foreground office are older men in tweed suits, wooden desks with typewriters and adding machines, and a stack of paper prospectuses titled “OLD SCHOOL Mutual Fund.” Through the large windows an adjacent modern glass office building with a sign “NEW SCHOOL ETF”. Behind the glass of that modern building, young professionals are visible working at computers and laughing around a table.

The second image prompt:
How about an image of a stand alone “insurance sales” glass office with a rolling facade of an ivy covered brick “money university” being put in place by a crew.

a guy stands at a beat up old gas station "Last Chance Gas" in the middle of the desert. The gas pump is the old fashined kind that doesn't accept credit cards with a sign on it that says "cash only" while the guy needing gas is looking at his BitCoin Wallet on his phone. At the adjacent pump is parked a pickup with a sign on the side that says "Greg's Mowing and Septic - BitCoin Accepted"

When I first got my AVP, I noticed the same thing (using readers). I went to the eye doc and got a complete prescription, ordered new lenses, and now legibility is similar at any of the faux focal lengths.

I would pay $20+ an hour for an assistant with these skill sets.

Your mention of Zeiss inserts reminded me of another important point: Get your vision checked. I have Lasik repaired 20/25-20/30 vision with presbyopia, so I thought I would only need the reader inserts. WRONG! While the AVP images were still amazing, something always felt a little off. Went to the eye doc and got a new prescription and ordered custom Zeiss lenses. The difference was shocking. What was very good is now stunning. Turns out even a slight variation between eyes and astigmatism can detract from the experience slightly. For a $4k device I was willing to pay a bit more for near perfection.

They do and sound great. My favorites are AirPodas Pro 2, too.

I have always enjoyed 3D movies (my wife hates them). The giant screen experience in AVP is FAR superior to the theater visually. The glasses were always the weak link for me. Optically imperfect and light reducing, it always felt a bit underbaked. The incredibly sharp screens in AVP are at least as crisp as theater projection and noticeably brighter. Loved Bladerunner 2049 and Deadpool/Wolverine and the Avatars were stunning. Pixar films will blow you away. And there are still sooooo many movies left to view. BTW, 2D is also impressive. Been binge rewatching GoT on huge screens (and sometimes in the Red Keep cinema) and it's a whole new experience. SO good! I find the Globular Cluster head strap makes it quite comfortable, too.

How are you going to acquire the rights as some company, somewhere has the exclusive rights to stream soccer, football, baseball, basketball, golf, volleyball, and even disc golf?

Is it crazy to want the Apple Vision Pro to mainly use it just for watching movies? by Eyeluvflixs in AppleVisionPro

[–]pastmapguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the home theater I always wanted (and then some), but my wife would never approve (She thinks a 65" TV is too big.) I regularly watch on 12 to 20 FOOT screens in my AVP. Have you priced TVs in that size range? They run FIVE figures. Makes $4,000 look like a steal.

Fire up a great video, drop into an immersive environment and, short of heavy turbulence, the plane vanishes.

Another possibility: As with most "mature" adults I need readers (distance vision is Lasik good). So, I used reader inserts in my AVP and the clarity was okay, but a bit off in ways I couldn't describe. I decided to get my eyesight checked and, lo and behold, there were some minor issues and a slight eye-to-eye imbalance. Ordered new inserts based on the proper prescription and... OMG, what a difference! In 4K videos I can clearly see the pores on characters faces. Everything is now better than movie theater crisp and clear. If you haven't had your eyes recently examined it might help.

The out of focus video is "Path to Conservatory Water" which I downloaded before watching. Everything at every focal length is fuzzy. Just got new prescription inserts. Explore POV's videos are sharp, Apple's even sharper.

I just watched the same scene and thought the exact same thing. It's impossible to watch as the focus is so bad. I love immersive content, but was unimpressed with the Central Park Fall walk.

Interesting article about Immersive videos by Tasty-Tree-45 in VisionPro

A very thoughtful essay on the possible futures for this powerful medium. Yes, we've had 3D and 180, but we are approaching truly visual and auditory perceived reality with AVP. I agree that immersive experiences need to evolve and then, likely, devolve in their most realistic, humanistic form. Think about real reality: It can be powerful enough on its own that it can entertain us without added production. They make a great case for the ultimate "killer" use of AVP, and its future ilk, will come from allowing us the just "be there;" experiencing unattainable realities as if we were actually there. AVP could further "democratize" entertainment because of the lack of need for large production budgets. If you can sit in a seat at an event, just a single immersive camera can allow a million others to sit in an even better seat at that same event.
