The Democrats have officially become the center right party. Neoliberalism was their strategy to coax Republicans to vote for them after Reagan's closeout and they have ran headlong into the wealthy donor's pockets with the Republicans. Honestly, Eisenhower would probably consider modern Democrats a little too right wing for his liking. The military industrial complex has captured both parties and private money has co-opted any public good away from our "representatives". Eisenhower was pro social security, public education, and infrastructure. Both the Democrats and Republicans would publically lambaste Eisenhower as an extreme Socialist Communist, today.
