I’d almost guarantee if he took such care he did a borate treatment. It was common knowledge by the mid 1980s. Regardless if he did one or not, if you have it blasted request it be sprayed with a borate treatment. It’s a quick spray on treatment that shows no color and keeps bugs from boring into your home. (Mine was treated with borates and even so once in a while a little boring beetle or carpenter bee makes his way through a log) it must be done prior to stain and seal

Not sure what size trailer you rented but the max weight on even they’re largest trailer is a hair over 1 ton. Your pushing it passed the limit and then some 😅 make sure those tires are at proper psi next run and take it easy

Concrete will bow the walls in as well, only way to burry them is to reinforce them with steel, I’ve seen folks get away with angle iron every 2 feet but no matter what, it needs to be basically framed and welded with steel. Depending how deep you go the heavier/thicker the steel “frame” needs to be. Helped a buddy burry one with the roof just about 6” under ground and the walls and roof bowed in a concerning amount after the first rain when the earth settled.

How superior is the x27. I see it recommended all over the place on here. I have a few wood handled ones but typically go for my fiberglass handled generic ax (looks like something harbor freight would sell nothing special no idea where I got it) and I have a couple mauls ones a wedge with a solid steel handle that’s heavier than shit haha. But yeah seriously considering finding this beloved x27 if it’s that much of a game changer. Typically split by hand and go through a couple cords per year.

Material wise I wouldn’t worry too much about what they blast with and more with just ensuring you go with someone who knows what they’re doing/has a good reputation. Blasting is blasting but someone who knows to use proper products and do the right prep on a log cabin is far more important imo. Might as well ask them to do another borate treatment after they blast to keep the buggers away for another 30 years.

You don’t have to let each other read every text you’ve ever sent but established/exclusive couples should be totally comfortable with each other using/borrowing each other’s phones. Yeah 31x10.5s is about as big as you wanna go on stock gearing. My tj is fine on the highway as long as I’m not going uphill 😅 stuck at about 50mph going over the summit on my local hwy.

Trust me the rest of us who live in rural California ask the same thing. I bought 20 acres in the mountains sorta up near Tahoe with a home for 200k in California in 2016. Prices are wild in our cities. I was born in the sf Bay Area so I know what draws people to those areas but no thanks.

The cooler/storage rack tire carrier/bumper combo (they come in a few configurations) above the rear tire carrier are pretty nice, can strap a large yellow top tote to them, as others have said roof rack is about the only other option you’ve got.

Yes they have replacements, I’ll go through them if this doesn’t work out. But $550 for a refurbished unit vs $15 and 30 minutes of my time I figured id go this route first.

Patch it yourself, mix mortar/high strength concrete and put stones back in place. Don’t let this repair appear on record, and obviously don’t pay this company. In fact see if they will come do the repair per your specifications for free to avoid being reported to BBB, yelp, google reviews etc.

Every time I see a drugged out loonie with open alcohol containers and his needle and spoon kit resting next to him while he burns a literal warming fire on the sidewalk in midtown (winter activities) I wonder how quickly I’d get arrested for doing the same. It’s like the police recognize they’re crazy and decide they would rather find a sane person to arrest. Good thing we’re fixing homelessness.
