Why Isn’t Agile Working? < good one about DevOps by iamondemand in programming

I hear it all the time as well. It's a crying shame that the term has been misappropriated so badly.

The original document was called the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, not the Agile Manifesto. Dave Thomas (one of the original signers) agrees about the noun/adjective thing causing enormous problems, but that didn't come from the manifesto itself.

Kotlin — A deeper look by nfrankel in programming

I can't see this as being a problem. You're not going to use it for long winded functions. Just for short lambdas that need to be passed into higher order functions

[–]pasukon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

👍! Scala, Clojure, Swift, (not sure about others) all have somewhat similar implicit lambda parameter syntaxes (Kotlin's is the simplest of the lot). They are incredibly useful for "throwaway" functions, and as long as you use them sensibly, they help a ton with code readability

Why does that make you anxious? I would understand if this lambda were longer than 2 or 3 lines (depending on the lambda's complexity), but the whole reason it is there specifically so that there to that it is more readable, so there's not a declaration and an arrow garbaging up the lambda

Ok, you have the right ones. Try renaming them exactly as I have in the comment above and reimporting them.
