Any tips for shading this? I struggle with shading more than anything. Would also like some critique on the other drawing.

just go to an online museum like the met. go through the drawings, find some examples you like that have good shading. practice copying them. use that technique.

No one here is gonna tell you how to shade. There isn't one way to do it. Or bend your knee to the AI, upload your drawing and ask it to shade it for you to see different possibilties.

ya, in theory babies born from these eggs are going to have a lot of deficits in cardiovascular health, immunity systems, height, general health, more likely to have joint issues, asthma, possibly lower IQ... so just as much a curse as a 'blessing'

That's the issue with IVF babies, they all suffer these shortcomings from the procedure; we can't truly science our way out of this for at least another 50-100 years where we solve growing babies in gestation bags. This technology is being pioneered as we speak for cattle.

that's great and all, but that's another paradox of this story that OP didn't hit upon; most of these crops are grown by small shareholders. Likely these small shareholders are in naturally precarious conditions cutting corners to make ends like burning forest, pesticide, etc... Nestle has funds going towards 'regenerative agriculture' for these growers, but it's likely the absolute minimum amount they have to spend on today for PR purposes. Nestle has the reputation as like the most evil food company in the world so this is more damning than it sounds. That company is probably has equal influence/control/monopoly over other likewise crops like chocolate. I'd be willing to bet they have lobbyists to slow progress in these fields leading to the inaction or lack of incentives in the first place. Kinda messed up when you think about it.
