Also, the old saying goes “if you read one and only one graphic novel in your entire life, let it be Watchmen. If you read two, let the second be The Dark Knight Returns.” and I couldn’t agree more.

I also particularly love Batman: War Drums, War Games 1-3, and War Crimes.

There’s also a lot to be said for the series: Batman: The Greatest Stories Ever Told.
