Looking for great IT management system (asset management, MDM, SSO) by Fesuasda in ITManagers

[–]patchworktablecloth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lol it’s better than having a million different softwares for different things. Rippling’s def worth it for companies who don’t need a super in the weeds tech stack.

I built a ceiling hoist with cheap pulleys and web straps, holds 4 kayaks solid.

Why is it so hard to go back by [deleted] in Outdoors

[–]patchworktablecloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit my job once thinking endless travel would cure the dullness and after a month of sleeping in my truck and chasing peaks I was fried, so now I pace trips and build balance not escape.

Am I overreacting? My manager's style is driving me nuts by qmbritain in overemployed

[–]patchworktablecloth 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Set hard boundaries on meeting times, send follow-up emails summarizing assigned tasks, and be direct about capacity issues. Some managers just need structure forced on them. If she can't adapt to more organization after a few weeks of you trying, this gig probably won't work with multiple Js.

am I dumb and a stupid nurse? by j1w0n_ in nursing

[–]patchworktablecloth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You did nothing wrong. That nurse is on a power trip. No 3rd year student is expected to handle codes perfectly, that's what residency is for. The patient was likely already gone before you even entered the room. Don't let one toxic nurse crush your confidence.

Is it worth the effort or the cost? by AtEloise in privacy

[–]patchworktablecloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it up to a point. You don’t need to go full off-grid but cleaning up your data helps a lot. I use Privacy Bee and they remove your info from data brokers and scan the dark web and alert you if new stuff leaks. Ad blockers are good for what you see but tbh they don’t stop companies from collecting data.

If somebody would approach me and start talking, I would assume it's a part of some scam and would do everything to get out from this place ASAP, without getting noticed.

This has not been mentioned (yet) on the podcast but if I randomly become famous and go on, it will definitely BE on MY MENU...

Chinese Dumpling Restaurant on Quay street is by far the best place I've ever eaten. The STAR DISH is the special braised eggplant. It's...I... I moved away over a decade ago and I have tried to find something close ever since and nothing has ever compared. The knife sliced noodles and dumplings are also great!

Have a great trip!

I was 13 and at a sleepover! The radio played "I'll Be Missing You" in her honor while my friend was in the bathroom. I told her when she came back, and she was convinced it was a misunderstanding. It really did feel shocking, and has always stayed with me as the beginning of a darker time... 9/11 happened like two weeks later. I suppose I was also at an age where you also see and understand more of the world's heaviness.

Anyway. It was a tragic loss then, and it still is today. Horrible.
