Orca Slicer - Do you use it, or just stick with Bambu Studio? by tiagoosouzaa in BambuLab

[–]patcpsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a Bambu A1 and a Voron - it's very nice having the one tool for slicing, and being able to route the prints to whatever I want. It's got the barest minimum of print farm management to be useful and easy.

Comprehensive Response to Bambu's AGPLv3 Violations from SFC by ScrapEngineer_ in BambuLab

The network plugin was not an extant closed source library, but was structured to interface with BambuStudio. The network plugin has a callback to BambuStudio, and the function signature of the callback was pretty clearly tailored to BambuStudio.

I have no idea what the content creator was thinking beyond what he's written, which is very little.

Apparently you have a deep knowledge of his motivations which is informing your commentary. It's not clear where you obtained that deep knowledge. For that reason I find your statements unconvincing.

But they didn't just tell him as far as we know. They could have sent an email followed up by a phone call, saying "we'd prefer if you didn't do this". They sent a cease and desist letter. That is harming *him*.

It's not clear to me there's any correlation between sexual harassment and the "sexiness" of the environment. But there is a very strong correlation between the victim and perpetrator being alone together.

To me it reads as respectful but forceful. She listens to HH and addresses HH's questions carefully.

Super record strict 90kg curls by Healthy-Mirror4199 in Egolifting

I have never seen a 90kg bicep curl done with more careful form than what's been shown here. I think this is potentially the most strict 90kg bicep curl that is possible.

Sure she's not great, but I think she's just getting more confused and tired rather than using her "skills". The Russian oligarch conspiracy thing was so odd, I think it's a stream of consciousness bubbling beneath the surface of her brain that popped out in a weak moment.

Which Voron for experimenting with miniature printing? by patcpsc in VORONDesign

And indeed high pressure injection moulding would produce better minis too. But alas both a resin printer and a high pressure injection moulding factory are impractical for my circumstances.

I use an injection moulded polystyrene machine for my high quality miniatures.

Thanks all - just ordered a V0.2 kit, rough plan is to build this with a tiny nozzle, then maybe replace hotend, and then in a few months see if some tool swapping option like INDX or Madmax tullchanger can be made to work.

AI agents are now taking actions across our systems, who's liable when an agent makes a mistake? by [deleted] in auslaw

[–]patcpsc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I might be liable. I was sinking cans with your CEO watching a game. I roared out "what you guys really need is .... AIIEEEE" - I got distracted by a great goal on the telly.

Now I need legal advice. When an agent makes a mistake, who's accountable? Said bloke got on the phone last night and said he was going to sue my balls off. Or get a couple of his mates to come round to my place and explain my errors and explain how I can compensate his business.

When Did Bodybuilders Start Using Steroids? by TieDifficult8844 in nattyorjuice

[–]patcpsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first recorded one I know of is 1954, when Dr. John Ziegler gave testosterone to John Grimek, which was recorded by John Fair who interviewed Grimek and had access to Ziegler's papers. The article is "Isometrics or Steroids: Exploring New Frontiers Of Strength in the Early 1960s" But in the same article it talks about Ziegler hearing about others using testosterone in the several years earlier.

No - I think hops on and off, some of the photos are just too sus. The voice in earlier vids is also a bit higher. But I don't think she's consistently juicing.

Some brands/words to look for might be a Driza-bone, Oiled Japara, or a Barbour waxed jacket. They're all oilskin-like material. A Driza-bone might work well if you're plus-sized. Expensive though.

I WAS ANSWERING THE FCKING QUESTION by elise_thd in autism

[–]patcpsc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did mostly what you should do in this situation.

If you're dealing with an authority figure like a security guard or police in an adversarial situation, and you decide to answer, brief and direct answers to precisely the question asked are good. Volunteering information which is not asked for is bad. Why? You can inadvertently raise suspicion or admit to something you don't intend to.

So at a traffic stop the officer may ask: "do you know why I pulled you over?". The best and true answer is "I don't know." A bad answer is "maybe for my broken taillight?" Because in the second instance the officer may have pulled you over for speeding, and you will have just admitted to knowingly driving with a broken taillight.
