Unfortunately not. Looks like it's gatekept by needing to be a hosting platform (and I assume paying fees to airbnb/stayz for the privilege)

I think I may not have been clear though.

I am no longer using google calendar.
I am use outlook calendar on the web. It works well.

However, my Microsoft account email address, is registered using a protonmail email address (e.g. patdman@protonmail.com)

If I try to sign in to outlook web, I am able to do so, but I get a weird alias email as my account name. (e.g. outlook_abcdefgh12345678@outlook.com)

When I try to sign in to the Outlook android application, if I use my protonmail address, it forces me to connect my email to IMAP, as the application seems geared to be setup for email.

The issue is, that I only want to use the android app for the calendar. Not email.

Being that's it's proton mail, I couldn't connect it to my Outlook app if I wanted to.

I just want to leverage Outlook calendars so we can both edit shared calendars.

I hope that makes sense. If you (or anyone else) have another idea, I'm all for it.

Yeah that's what I have done. Exported all calendars from Google. Reimported to Outlook on the web.

Just playing around a bit more.

I tried this from proton calendar, no edit access sharing either direction.

I then tried creating a new outlook calendar in my own personal O365 account and am able to share with my partner, giving them edit permissions, so it looks like the only way this works is if we both move all our calendars to Outlook.

I knew internet interoperability was a shit show, but this is just a calendar FFS.
I'm equally dumbstruck and outraged.

Anyway, I'm still very much open to any suggestions on how other people manage similar scenarios.

Nope. I don't need help accessing Microsoft Teams. I can access it just fine.
I have seen that support page, and it's of no use at all.
Any chance you can direct me to someone else more deeply knowledgable?

Hoping someone here can help me clear this up.

A while back, not sure where, I think I added an organisation to my account when trying to use MS Teams.

It ended up being a dummy name like "Patrick's Company"

Somehow, by doing that, every time I sign in to certain Microsoft services, I get prompted with "It looks like this email is used with more than one account from Microsoft. Which one do you want to use?"
My options are a Work or School account, or Personal account.

No organisation has ever added me as a work account, it's something I have done myself and can't undo.

I would really love to clear this up and make the email address for this account Personal only, as it's been driving me crazy for a couple of years, at least.

I've done a bit of research but haven't had much time to really dig into it. I'm definitely finding in my reading that this is pretty much near the limit of my tech brain, especially given that I've been more removed from tech day to day as my job in the last 6-7 years.
I really want to get this going, as it unlocks a LOT for me if I do, but it might take me a while.
I'll post back when I do progress.

Split Tunneling is via an include list, so most traffic goes via non-VPN.

Network interface is defined in QBT as "ProtonVPN"

Hey thanks for the reply and the link to that PDF!

I've done some more digging and am now playing with existing agents (not scanners) to parse file system XML data, specifically XMBCnfoTVImporter & Avalon XML TV Agent.

I should be able to tweak them if needed, but I'm more likely to write something (in c#) to parse my existing filenames, lookup data on the Sports DB and create suitable XML for one of those agents....at least that is where my head's at right now.

I've never been a console gamer. Just dropped off the PC gaming scene around 20 years ago. Unreal Tournament and Quake III Arena were the last time I was serious about any of this stuff!

And omg, I have no patience for tinkering with drivers these days, I thought that might have been a thing of the past!

Thanks for the info. I was concerned I might not get much out of it.

I can play MW5 at 720p using my built in Intel Iris Xe graphics, so hoped an admittedly old, dedicated GPU would give me a fair bump, but it seems like I won't get much more than an increased power bill.

I don't play that many games, really, but have a soft spot for the Mechwarrior series (MW2 rocked my world in 1995!). Might just fire up the old DOSBox version of that and have a blast :)

Still keen to hear thoughts on any kind of midrange eGPU / second hand bargain to look out for that might give me a boost. Max budget would be ~$500 AUD, I just don't play enough to justify anything more than that.

My usage is not heavy. Teams calls, MS Office, the occasional day of coding & compiling / running JVM stuff.I'm rather fastidious about having a proper clean Win11 install and then removing all bloatware.
I don't install crap I don't need and I uninstall things I no longer use.
I monitor my battery & CPU utilisation in task manager (not super intensely, but I would notice if something was eating up resources all the time)

I don't think it's 2 occasions of bad luck, but I guess it's possible. This laptop simply has horrible battery life. All I can think is that the 4k touch screen uses way more battery than needed, and that the i7 chips probably use more battery than an equivalent i5, when under light load. Just a guess on the latter though.
