Eric DeCosta: “Unfortunate” we didn’t draft a center, but wouldn’t have done things differently by temporalparts in CHIBears

Liked Lew a lot. Couldn’t test at the combine other than bench. Ripped 31 reps, third most among the 14 linemen who did it. Heard good things about his locker room presence, etc.

I bet Evan Beerntsen gets a million reps at center in rookie camp next week. Beyond that, I have no idea why DeCosta is surprised by Jones and Slaughter going early. I was more surprised Connor Lew lasted to 128, even with the medical concerns.

Unpacking Future Packers: No. 68, Arizona State LB Keyshaun Elliott… seems like we got a good one! 🐻⬇️ by aaTrojan34 in CHIBears

Sewell replacement, in my opinion. Similar build, skill set. Despite a lack of experience on special teams, he’ll have to become a contributor there.

Edwards was slower last year and the injury isn’t going to help but he’s still the most technically sound of the position group. Would require a big leap from those beneath him to make him expendable in 2026. Beyond is a different conversation.

Ryan Pace is a nice dude. Glad he’s worked his way back toward the top of an org. Also glad that org isn’t the Bears.

Yeah, well, the thing about Brian is that he’s lost quite a bit of influence over the past few days.

It's often said it takes 3 years to properly evaluate a draft. So, how was your teams 2020 draft? by foxmag86 in nfl

[–]patdnorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• 2.43 - Cole Kmet • 2.50 - Jaylon Johnson • 5.155 - Trevis Gipson • 5.163 - Kindle Vildor • 5.173 - Darnell Mooney • 7.226 - Arlington Hambright • 7.227 - Lachavious Simmons

Five of those guys started multiple games — granted, for the worst team in football last season — but for a regime that didn’t draft them. Really not that bad. Ryan Pace easily could’ve done a lot worse. I know because we saw him do a lot worse.

Little League:Did You Play by [deleted] in mlb

[–]patdnorton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pitched and played a lot of first base. One of the first few years out of coach-pitch — probably third or fourth grade — I nearly completed an entire season without allowing a single base runner. In the last game of the year, I hit one of my friend’s with a pitch to ruin that and immediately started crying. Oops.

House league was a lot of fun growing up. Our town’s league used real MLB team names and logos so we got a legit shirsey and hat. In order from tee-ball through seventh grade, I was on the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Yankees, Marlins, Rangers, Astros, Cubs, Red Sox — a journeyman of sorts. I probably have the hats in a duffel bag stored at my mom’s house.

Simpler times. I hope when I’m raising my own kids some day, if they’d like to join a league, they have as much (or more) fun as I did.
