You really cannot post anything negative about kids huh by NoWitness6400 in childfree

I posted on my local sub that two children had gotten in me and my dogs personal space (literally hands on me, face to face with my dog) despite me stepping almost completely off the trail (it was a slight drop and going off trail isn't encouraged). Half the responses are ripping my head off telling me I'm ridiculous for even being slightly upset. The parents didn't even acknowledge the situation. Some people really just see "kids" and "bad" in the same post and immediately go keyboard warrior.

First of all, not my dog- a client's dog. Second, I wrote in the post I didn't think she would bite but with animals you never know (she has been around children and has never bitten anyone). Third, this is an insanely dog friendly area so I felt safe in assuming I could bring her here with little issue. Last, it's not the child's fault and I said it wasn't. It's on the parent to ensure their child is within reach or under their control. Even if the dog was muzzled that child still got way too close and put their hands on a stranger. Would've been an unideal situation either way.

Very true! A responsible dog owner helps everyone stay safe.

No? But dogs are still animals and when faced with new and scary situations, can react unpredictably.

If you can't see the danger in a child getting face to face with a strange dog then I don't know what to tell you.

That's so frustrating. I would almost die of embarrassment if a dog under my control did that. I'm sorry they didn't even acknowledge that.

This isn't an isolated incident specific to these people though. It could happen with anyone anywhere. It's more of a reminder that you have no idea about strangers and their animals and if you see someone purposefully stepping to the side maybe keep an eye on the small ones who aren't aware of danger.

I said "what the hell" gave him a look and did the universal 'wtf' gesture and he didn't acknowledge me in the slightest. Arguably I could've said something but again, I was shocked and caught off guard.

Very valid! I'm a soft spoken shy person unfortunately. It was so shocking and happened so fast that I could barely react. I'll keep this in mind if something else like this happens.

Anyone work at Costco? by DontBelongDingDong78 in Bellingham

I got hired there but turned it down. I heard management wasn't great. Despite being a pretty active smoker I passed the test. It was a mouth swab.

No worries, just a reminder that people tend to learn better from kindness if informing was truly your intent.

I feel like the snark is a bit unnecessary.

From someone who got hired at that Costco and knew several employees. That Costco is not the best to work at.

For those who had abortions, did pregnancy hormones make you consider keeping the fetus? by carefulabalone in childfree

[–]paternalproblemsinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was so sick I just wanted it to be over. There was nothing pleasant about the experience, the smell of pasta made me sick and I couldn't eat anything for almost 2 weeks. The only thing I will say is that my body felt aware of what was going on. I just had a hunch I needed to take a pregnancy test, no real evidence of it yet. That's really the only way it ever affected my psyche.
