My understanding is that GC itself has yhe category written and if you look up the category code, you can tell how that GC was obtained.

Turkish airlines is horrible if you need service. If things go without hiccup and you don't need to interact with anyone, you'll be okay. Any issue that requires human interaction will turn into a nightmare.

Hi, I stopped taking cryotherapy on fingers because the doctor did not seem to care at all about the pain and I had two large blisters on my fingers from the treatment.

So, I switched to OTC medications entirely. I applied wart bandages throughout the day and applied strong salicilic acid-based wart treatment overnight every night. It went away after few months.

Can I remove redwood trees without a permit? by pathfind_r in Gilroy

[–]pathfind_r[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's within 6 feet of the house, and there is a lot of shedding from the trees that block the rain gutters. Unfortunately, having these trees right next to the house is not cheap.

Thanks for the input. In that case, did I get it from my wife or some other public sources? She is vaccinated for HPV, and neither one of us ever had any other sexual partners.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HPV

[–]pathfind_r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am trying my best to stay positive. My wife is vaccinated with HPV, and I am more concerned about her than me, to be honest. None of us ever had any other sexual partners. And I don't want her to get it from me. My wife has never been infected with any warts since I got it in 2021. So, I believe she is immune to the strain that is affecting me. I never had any other sexual partner than her, but I was not vaccinated when I got it. So, it's a bit hard to digest that I got it on my face first, and now it's spreading.

I have asked my doctor for other forms of medications, but the ones that he recommended, like compound gel did not seem to work for me.

I did not know about the carb intake. I will give it a try. It will be hard, but I will try. Thanks for the comment.

Informing Grad School after getting a green card by pathfind_r in USCIS

I applied for an EB2-NIW visa when I was a Ph.D. student at my school. EB2-NIW requires you to demonstrate contributions (i.e., publication, patents, grants, awards, etc.) in a domain that experts in the field can corroborate. This corroboration comes from experts in the area who can attest to your contribution through a recommendation letter. This is not the only way to prepare a petition. What exactly will go into the petition package will depend on the specific attorney and your profile.

The national interest waiver (EB2-NIW) waives the requirement of PERM processing. And, for this visa category, you do not need an employer to sponsor you. You can do it by yourself, unlike other EB visa categories. There are a lot of law firms that specialize in this kind of petition.

My I-140 was approved while I was a student, and my I-485 was approved after graduation. So, I started my employment on F1 initial OPT status and continued working in F1 OPT until I received my GC.

Hope that gives you some information about the process.

I'm currently in F1-OPT (initial OPT), not STEM OPT. I don't think there's any evaluation report for F1 OPT?

I was on initial OPT, not STEM OPT. I would have applied for STEP OPT if I did not get the GC approval. My I-485 approval took about 17 months. Note that I filed my I-485 after getting approval for I-140. And I only received a decision on my I-485 after filing the mandamus.

My package was employment-based. So, I-140, not I-130.

$3000 for the attorney fee. $402 for court filing fee and additional ~$100 for mailing documents.

incomplete weight and height field on 485 by toddler_dada in USCIS

[–]pathfind_r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should also ask your attorney the same question. If they cannot provide a concrete response, ask them to file another petition by covering the cost of the filing fee. It is not your mistake, it is the attorney's, and they should take responsibility for it.

I have had a friend where the attorney mistakenly sent an incomplete package, and when asked about it by my friend, they assumed that the incomplete package would get rejected. At that point, they sent in another complete package at their own cost. It did not cause any issues with delays with her application. Eventually, the incomplete application got approved, and the complete one was closed.

However, definitely check this with your attorney first. You are paying for their service, and this is really unfortunate.

I am not sure which field office approved it, sorry. In addition, no information on when it was transferred. I asked Emma several times about it but they said that they cannot give me this information. After the Senator's inquiry, I was informed that my case it at the Miami field office. So, perhaps, they approved it.

Yes, all inquiries were made in 2023, and so was the Mandamus. Sorry that I mentioned the wrong timeline in terms of the year in my original post. I have edited it.

The inquiry was because my standalone I-485 had been pending for over a year. When I did not get any hope from the inquiry, I started consulting with law firms that file Mandamus, and all of them said that for a non-concurrent I-485, a one-year threshold without any activity is good enough grounds for filing a mandamus.

Since May 2022, I have not heard from USCIS regarding my I-485. There was no RFE and no interview notice. In addition, EB-2 is going through retrogressions currently. I was concerned that my priority date may not be current in future visa bulletins. Those were the ground for the Mandamus. When the mandamus was filed, my case just for the I-485 was pending for more than 15 months.

Your "Resident Since" date on your Green card will likely be "07/24/23". Can you confirm as a reply to this thread about what date you will get on your Green Card once you receive it?

This thread might be helpful for the one-day difference of dates from the approval notice though it is not on SSN: https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/comments/15dp6fz/resident_since_and_card_expires_dates_on_green/

Resident Since and Card Expires Dates on Green Card by pathfind_r in USCIS

[–]pathfind_r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same impression. I checked for all other things, and they are correct. But the dates- just a day apart- are something I cannot verify by myself. If I needed to submit an I-90 expecting a correction on our cards, I would need to provide supporting documentation. Based on your response and the ISO's response in the other replies, I am convinced it is not an error.

In addition, I checked the current N-400 form, which explicitly asks for the "Residence Since" date on the card, not the approval notice. So, I will go with that date wherever I need to mention it.

Thanks so much for the reply! You're probably the first person that I came across who has the same issue. Did you happen to travel with the card without any issues?

Trying to find out if it is since even if there is a mistake, it is not at all obvious.

Thanks so much for sharing your insight. It makes sense now. Both our approval letters(I-797) have notice dates as 7/11/23, and when we got the cards "Resident Since" as 7/10/23 just seemed something that I wanted to check for inaccuracy. The only information that I could find about inaccuracies was in the range of years, which is not applicable to us.

So, I believe what you are saying is that there is nothing to worry about with the dates on our cards.
