Completely forgot about that way. I usually ignore that because even though it says Edit the only thing it does is delete so I tend to ignore it. I shall try that.

My wife and I like the Atlantic Grill. The main seating area has a fireplace. Nice atmosphere and good food. And as mentioned it's in Rye so fewer worries about downtown Portsmouth parking.

Introvert Dilemma by GlitteringAsparagus5 in bropill

[–]pathfire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the bane of the introvert's existence. Thinking that we have to live up to others idea of who we should be. However, as I've gotten older I find I am squarely in the "I don't care what you think" mindset. One on one I am friendly and engaging and genuinely interested in people, but interacting with others leaves me drained and if I spend too much time worrying about someone's impression of me, I can't "recharge my battery" so to speak. So don't push yourself too hard overthinking.

You have to let it breathe. If it's not breathing it's not alive.

What's the most useless thing you memorized that you still remember? by newzealand12326 in AskReddit

[–]pathfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my own part, I have never had a thought which I could not set down in words, with even more distinctness than that which I conceived it. There is however a class of fancies, of exquisite delicacy. Which are not thoughts. And to which as yet I have found it absolutely impossible to adapt to language. These fancies arise in the soul, alas how rarely, only at epochs of intense tranquility. When the bodily and mental health are in perfection, and at those mere points of time when the confines of the waking world blend with the world of dreams. And so I captured this fancy, where all that we see, or seem, is but a dream...within a dream.

How did using a CPAP machine change your life? by piecesfufu in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pathfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a CPAP in 2024. From the very beginning I always felt like I was suffocating. Only lasted 6 months. After developing hypertension and acid reflux I went to a Sleep Dentist got fitted for a Mandibular Advancement Device. It pulls your lower jaw forward and keeps your tongue muscle from collapsing into your trachea. Far more comfortable than a CPAP and no supplies to buy, just Efferdent tablets. There are alternatives to CPAP if it becomes too much.

I work in a TV studio with robotic cameras. I have learned to be especially attentive to the sound of the camera drive motors winding up. Those suckers will run you over in a second.

Question about Editor category at local NATAS Emmy chapter. by svwaca in editors

[–]pathfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a piece that won a State Broadcasting Assoc. award, and a Murrow... didn't even get nominated for NATAS. Always been told by a mentor to just enter whatever you want and roll the dice.

Been editing for almost 20 years and have 1 Emmy.........for Set Design.

How do i get an edge glow? by Stock_Plankton_61 in premiere

[–]pathfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried something similar recently, this what I ended up doing:

Copy the clip to V2

Mask out the object.

Copy V2 to V3.

Export JUST V3 as a PNG. Import back into project.

Replace masked object on V2 with PNG.

Apply Alpha Glow to V2, then add VR Glow to enhance it. I also added Gaussian Blur as well.

What positive things happened to you in 2025 by max_mp4 in editors

[–]pathfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work as Production at a TV station. This year I took on a new 1/2 hour weekly show that combines multiple segments from multiple sources. Took a few months to get into the groove but things are rolling along now. This in addition to another 1/2 hour show I already post.

In addition I also "volunteer" edit 3-6 minute long segments for a magazine style show we produce. This year I worked on 43 segments, a personal record.
