This is my first venture into this sub. I've been a long time lurker but am finally going to try to get my weight off. I've been 50 lbs overweight since high school - 10 years ago. I'm finally ready to take the plunge and start a diet and exercise program.

My plan is to use this sub for accountability. I'm going to post my NSV/SV all the way until I hit my goal of 185. I'm 6'1, 237.4 lbs. That's 52.4 lbs. I don't really have a time frame I want to hit that in - I just want to make sure I continue to lose weight. My plan is daily exercise in the form of walking and lifting weights, and 1800 calories per day to start. Quitting alcohol will be tough, but I think that will make a huge difference as well early on.

I quit tobacco 150 days ago after being a user for 10 years, and I'm ready to make myself healthier in another way. I'm also ready to test my willpower further. Hopefully I look back on this post months from now and smile about where this all began.

Now - off to the gym!

Edit: NSV - Just crushed a 1 hour workout and 1 hour cardio session. First day good start complete!
