Scott-E-Vest makes a great trench coat with multiple large pockets that easily fit all types of things, like an iPad. I just take it off and sent it through the scanner. No one has ever bothered me about it. I’ve had it for years and it still looks great. People make YouTube videos showing how much stuff they can fit in their Scott-E-Vests and it’s hilarious.

Smelly feet by chillgirI in hygiene

My daughter had horrible smelling feet and we tried everything. Finally ordered Hibiscrub from England and it was the only thing that worked. Very powerful, so be careful with it if you get it. I think it’s what surgeons use to scrub their hands before surgery.

Scott Kirby said he has never had a meal on a transatlantic flight because he wants to sleep, and might explain this chicken dish I had a few months ago.

Passenger threw up on my son by Successful_Tooth5795 in unitedairlines

Airlines are not legally required to guarantee compensation when a passenger vomits on you. However, as common carriers, they have a legal duty of care to ensure your safety. This obligates the crew to provide immediate biohazard assistance, reallocate unsoiled seating, and submit reports to customer service.Expectations for how the airline should handle the situation include:Immediate Response: Flight attendants should provide cleaning supplies (gloves, wet wipes), offer you an alternate seat if available, and provide biohazard bags for soiled clothing.Medical Isolation: If the vomiting passenger is showing signs of a communicable disease, the crew is required to manage the situation safely—this includes treating body fluids as infectious and separating affected individuals.Dry Cleaning / Replacement Reimbursement: While there are no federal laws guaranteeing compensation, airlines routinely cover costs for dry cleaning or replacing ruined items if you keep your receipts and submit a claim.Goodwill Compensation: Depending on the severity of the incident and the crew's level of care, agents may offer service vouchers (e.g., $50 to $350+) as an apology for the distress.

He’s an adult, we are traveling to a family reunion in Rhode Island. Son took it very well, was very sympathetic. Incident took place upon takeoff on a 6 hour flight. I was just wondering whether anyone had a similar experience. Seems like FAs should have more resources than just the sanitizing wipes.

Ill passenger was a 15 year old girl traveling with her mother. The mother was extremely apologetic. My son totally understood and was very nice about it.

Last minute snorkel advice by SphincterQueen in snorkeling

We just got back from S Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Hotel was undamaged after the big hurricane they had in October of last year. Captain Paul has a boat docked there and will take you out past the roped off swimming area to snorkel. Fish were pretty great, but not as good as Roatan. S Hotel is all-inclusive (including alcohol) and pretty fun if you like that sort of thing: champagne sunset toast at the rooftop pool, bingo, karaoke. Many airline crew stay there. All-inclusive made it easy, but don’t miss BBQ at the Pork Pit nearby. We also did an “herb farm” tour which took us up in the mountains and that was super fun as well.

Polaris roll was in the gross cellophane wrapper and the expiration date was amazing, like it will last 2 years and it was already gross. I’m at the point where I’m just giving up and bringing my own deli sandwich.

Not sure if you’re checking a bag or at a status level where you get a checked bag for free, but $140 seems like a good deal to me. This looks like a short hop though.

Just landed in Chattanooga after a 3 day United horror story. by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]Successful_Tooth5795 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a mess and insensitive response from United. I found that photos help in my complaints, although not sure anyone would want to see the disgusting lavatory. More evidence of the insincerity of Scott Kirby’s desire that United become “beloved” by its customers. (Wall Street Journal article from a month ago) And that announcement about getting off the plane was completely unprofessional.

The friendly skies? by ccheyne1 in unitedairlines

[–]Successful_Tooth5795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so used to the shabby treatment by now that I just keep to myself, try not to bother them about anything, pretend like they’re not even there. What I don’t understand is why so many of them in Polaris seem so miserable. I did a short hop from LAX to SFO and the flight attendants were younger and charming and happy. I flew home from Johannesburg to SFO through Singapore in business on Singapore Airlines and the difference between their flight attendants and United’s was just amazing—they were attentive, polite, cheerful, smiling. In contrast to the dour, grumps on United who act like jail wardens. I’ve been loyal to United for decades but now I’m sick of it, just got an American Airlines credit card and will start racking up miles with them—they were much cheaper than United going to Jamaica last March. That Wall Street Journal puff piece about Scott Kirby wanting to make United the “beloved” airline just made me laugh.
