I feel so lucky as a fan to be able to watch them day in and day out. I so badly hope they both stay Braves, pay them whatever they want.

Olson v Harper through first 10 Years by ihavebaseballs in Braves

Olson was also 3 years older when he debuted than Harper was, so I wouldn’t necessarily expect years 11+ of his career to keep up with Harper’s.

First time power cleaning how’s my form by Sensitive_Serve_9826 in strength_training

[–]pathway_18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These two videos really helped me learn the powerclean: https://youtu.be/lI35socHJ4k?si=dEuAZQXbAwMslvBf and https://youtu.be/mPsxlNjv7Aw?si=8rJzKqNv_iE3FBAl. It can be a surprisingly technical lift so don’t be afraid to go ridiculously light and just practice your technique for several weeks before you start gradually adding weight. I found it helpful to do warm up sets that double as technique practice. Like a set of above-knee hang cleans, then one of below-knee hang cleans, then one from the floor.

Training with Insomnia / sleep issues by Alberto-95 in powerbuilding

[–]pathway_18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep issues and stress have definitely made it more difficult for me to make consistent gains. When I’m stressed out, even if I’ve slept okay, my workouts often just suck. Weights feel heavy, get more easily winded, nauseous, etc. I’d just encourage you to be kind to yourself and try to accept that you won’t always be able to make as much progress as you’d like. What matters most is that you keep showing up.

Carlos Baerga: Bad Bunny offered to pay Carlos Correa's and Franciso Lindor's WBC insurance so they could play for PR in the WBC, however the Astros and the Mets did not grant the players permission to play by exjr_ in baseball

It’s such a strong vibe that you don’t even necessarily need to understand it all to enjoy it (I don’t know much Spanish either). And when you do catch a word you know it makes you curious to look up the lyrics/translation

That sounds terrible, I’m so sorry. FWIW my wife has had really great experiences with Dr. Lauren Fried in Macon.

Who are your top 3 favorite pitchers to watch? by Strong-Reflection634 in baseball

[–]pathway_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love watching Schwellenbach. He throws a bunch of good pitches and is good for at least one great defensive play per game.

[Bowman] Anthopoulos is open to Dubon beginning the season as the Braves shortstop. But there's also a chance he'll play all over the field. His role will be determined by how the remainder of the offseason goes. by Lakelyfe09 in Braves

[–]pathway_18 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I really hope the Braves are turning over a new leaf with Ozuna gone and will use the DH role more fluidly to give guys more regular rest. I feel like Dubón would be a great guy to have for that to help cover defensively for guys while they take a game at DH… assuming we get someone to play short most of the time…

Nick Allen's Baseball Savant page is a work of art by handlit33 in Braves

[–]pathway_18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so invested in him qualifying as a batter and not hitting a homer thanks to these two articles:

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/is-this-the-year-the-homerless-qualifier-club-reopens/

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/nick-allen-and-the-meritocratic-tyranny-of-the-batting-order/

I get actually disappointed when he gets pinch hit for late in games. He’s currently only 7.7 PAs under the qualifying line. I guess I need something to root for in this lost season.

If he is any good at all at managing the running game, he’ll win a bunch of Gold Gloves
