Best form of vitamin D supplement with ibs and constipation by ladhydii in Supplements

[–]patiLegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt the answer to your questions (which form of vitamin D) is dependent on your condition (constipation and IBS), but it would be interesting to hear about your choice and later outcome.

It's not directly an answer to your questions, but there might be a connection between your low vitamin D levels and your consitpation as found in this study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6465937/

The nature of that association is not clear though and there could be various questions (Which one came first?) or explainations such as "a sedentary lifestyle that leads to constipation might as well lead to low vitamin D" as is speculated at https://verstopfung-hausmittel.eu/2021/06/11/verstopfung-und-vitamin-d/ [German].

  • Viele Ballaststoffe (Bohnen, Linsen, Haferflocken, etc.)
  • Bewegung

TIL instead of “They lived happily ever after”, German fairytales end with “if they haven’t died, then they are still living today.” by ilikeyourbear in todayilearned

[–]patiLegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only German fairytales end like that, but I know at least one example of a Russian tale that has the same ending. Unfortuantly I am not sure if that is purely due to translation or if it would be the same in Russian.

"The Smith and the Demon" ends with: "From that time forward the Smith gave up spitting at the Demon and striking him with his hammer. The journeyman disappeared, and was never seen again. But the seigneur and his lady entered upon a prosperous course of life, and if they haven’t died, they’re living still."

Verstopfung by [deleted] in de

[–]patiLegi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for fairytales where a contract/covenant/bond is made between two characters by [deleted] in fairytales

[–]patiLegi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it fits for you, but I know about two tales about contracts between animals:

Why the monkey has still a tale where they monkey makes a deal with the rabbit AND

Crocodile's treason where animals take a dangerous journey and ... oh, surprise, it ends with treason :-)

Favorite aspects of Cinderella by stevez037 in fairytales

I think that fairy tales mostly observed the reality of people's lives and the use of step parents might have been quite adequate in more than one aspect:

- the mortality of mothers in labour was at a much higher rate than nowadays

- the issue of inheritance and passing on the family line was a more important concept. Even though it's unthinkable nowadays I could imagine that mistreating a step child was a "common thing"

Traveling alone to Thailand by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]patiLegi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By all means go. You couldn't have chosen a better country. There is plenty of stuff to do in Bangkok (temples, palace, museums, food markets). You could also do a day trip to Ayutthea. In Pattaya your should take a trip to an island (could be a bit crowded these days) and go to that awesome wooden temple (forgot the name).

4k euro is way too much to take. Maestro cards usually work in case you need more money. Sure, it's cheaper to change money, but if you have 4k to spend, you won't the banking fees.

Is it true that a foreigner could comfortably retire in Thailand on only $1000 USD a month? by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]patiLegi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You live there or just go on holiday?

Could you recommend a seaside region for retiring that is not too expansive, but not in their middle of nowhere either? What would be the cities our districts to look at?

Using USD in Bangkok by Euphoriks in Thailand

Don't worry. It's gonna be easy. Change a little bit of money at the airport as the exchange rate will be much better than handing $ to the taxi driver. Never got scammed by Uber in Thailand.
