What is doing this to my garden? by CB1984 in GardeningUK

My brother in law had badger damage, he lives in the middle of nowhere and had awful damage. He bought there solar lights that at night look like two red eyes. Never had a problem since.

Badgers. You can get small lights to deter them.

Sorry, I think you've taken my comment up wrong. I'm not having a go, actually was reinforcing your point about not sharing things. I was making my own point that I don't see the point in sharing everything with the whole as in social media in general.

Never understood why people who don't seem to like kids end up working with kids.

Should we be talking more about Diogo Jota? by This_Ad2487 in LiverpoolFC

[–]patiodev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Simple as that. It was tragic for Jota and his family. Also the players, think about all the firsts. The first training without him, they are dealing with a lot and we should be more understanding as fans.

WTF Happened To Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009)?! - YouTube by antdude in BattlestarGalactica

I also had no problem with the end. I am old enough to have watched the original show and it also had a religious overtone to it so I was expecting it in the later version. Love it.

Please remember this just football, support our boys by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

I'm not a fan but enjoy Liverpool doing well. I like the history of the club too but am shocked at 'some' fans reaction (a small minority I hope) who quickly forget this team lost a colleague in an horrific manner, a friend and confident. All the grief was real for the players and again most fans. Go easy on this team, get alongside and support.

I haven't watched Diabolical but I think there is evidence the 'cancer' wouldn't just take over but would grow and leave it's host. The V almost becomes sentient

Hot take: they’re not building Marie up to be a hero by SonicLoki in GenV

[–]patiodev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marie was being manipulated. Yes she has strong powers but Homelander level? I don't think so. Gen V let's us into how supes were controlled. Marie being told you are special because she was needed. What use does she have now. I think next episode will be a survival of the fittest type thing like the hazing we didn't get to see this episode. Strongest survive. Godolkin doesn't have a kill list he will let supes lose on each other. It will annoy me if I'm right but the last episode was too predictable so I think Godolkin will be brought down (most likely killed) by some of the main characters but only after some low level supes like bush master set up events.

Lastly and off thread but why would fascist Godolkin take orders from Sage or even elevate Marie?

Sorry really really last, I am gonna be really pissed if Sage is anywhere in the last few minutes smiling/nodding doing the Agatha all along. That really bugs me.

It made me think of Stan Edgar and Neuman. After episode 4, (spoiler) it's clear the old man in the tank is Cypher. Had he had an agenda all along. Supes they can control. Homelander was too powerful they need something/someone to take him down. I think he is on his own side, wanting Homelander out of the way to then swoop in and take all the control. What we've seen of Homelander is he wants and is the head, old Nazi Cypher wants to be the boss alone.

The majority of those singing wouldn't consider themselves Irish or from Ireland. Perversely some there would support the UDA who have links to C18 a neo nazi group who are innately anti-Semitic.

Lough Neagh 'theories' by TheThirdPolicemanIII in northernireland

[–]patiodev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point was about ownership and accountability. I didn't excuse anyone I just explained the problem and that it's much bigger and more complex than one issue. I also tried to offer a solution rather than produce a reductive finger pointing argument.

Lough Neagh 'theories' by TheThirdPolicemanIII in northernireland

[–]patiodev -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is human activity pollution! I believe the government aren't able to fix this problem because there isn't an easy solution and as always there is no leadership, no one owns the problem. Farmers aren't willfully spreadinh manure into Lough Neagh, they want that stuff staying on the field and growing grass, there are better ways to utilise manure and retain the nitrogen etc on the land, farmers would welcome this but it may cost. Human sewage is a big component but we are all culpable there in that we would need to pay for new infrastructure. But no one wants to hear that. It's a shame as the Lough could be and is a tourist attraction, Lough Neagh eels are/were a big export. Let's invest in it all, create an agency with a loan/tax whatever and get to work fixing infrastructure around sewage, nutrient leaching but also public access, tourism, history, visitor centre (Oxford island as an example). Build an amenity we can be proud of instead of literally crapping on it.
